I would change it to filler-pump-rad-cpu....That would only knock off a few C's though....Man I don't know whats going on...What you have there should cool well....

Are you absolutely certain the WB is seating flat on your IHS....

Im starting to belive that its the block. Its well seated but I might have too much paste. This system uses most of the same parts as i had in my last and that thing was chilly.

BTW where is a good place to put the mobo temp sensor. The place I got it now is collecting a lot of heat and I doubt it is accurate. The bios temp for the mobo is 25-30 but where got the sensor is around 55-60.

would it be a better ideal to put it on the mem?

It's something simple..That can be the worst to figure out sometimes though..Yeah just stick it on the mem or something... Make sure the block is seating good and go from there..Don't use tio much TIM that will heat you up to..Good Luck with it...

Thanks everyone. After cleaning the chip and waterblock and reapplying some artic silver I was able to get the cpu temp to drop into the 40's.

Ill let the thermal paste setup then OC and post some pics

I did some digging about possible problems with my mobo and found some issues with the p5n32 giving high temps. Can a mobo actualy cause overheating even with a good cpu cooler? Several people said that their temps ran between 50-60C idle. Can a mobo cause this?

Heres the link tell me what you guys think
http://www.nvnews.net/reviews/asus_p...m/page_4.shtml

And yes CompUSA has AC5 they just put it in their own packaging.

It's not because it makes it hotter, it just reads it hotter. IE. one of my BIOS updates would say it ran 60c in BIOS, and when I pointed a heatsensor gun on it, I got 34C.

That was even after letting it run 10 minutes...

well im out of luck right now Asus's downloads are on the fritz.

Now I seem to have another problem. i just installed xp x64 and it's just slower than hell. Im not sure whats going on. Im hopeing that installing all the updates for it will help.

Im not sure if I messed up the install. I turned the computer off during the GUI part of the install twice. Do you think it could have corrupted it. The install ran slow too. I installed the same one not to long ago on a computer with half the guts and it took less than half the time to install and it ran fine afterwords. Could it be that my version is just not updated to handle the my E6600

PS: I cant get TAT to work on x64 is in incompatable?
