3770k turbo boost maxing out at 3700mhz

My 3770k is not turboing up to 3900mhz unless I change the max turbo ratio myself to 39 in the bios on a Sabertooth Z77. It is maxing at 3700mhz I have the multicore enhancement enabled any ideas?

Im no expert on IVY, but maybe its only supposed to Turbo to 3.9ghz when only 1thread/core is used

This. If 1 core is maxed it goes up to 3.9. 4 cores is 3.7Ghz. I have the same processor. Best you can do is take the voltage down a bit and get it to 4.0-4.2Ghz

Even running prime95 it maxed out at 3700 I had to manually enter the max turbo ratio to 39 to fix this

i most likely heard wrong... but i heard if the cpu is using 2-cores, it'll be at the turbo boost frequency.
when all 4-cores are in use its clocks to around there (3.7)

on my 3570k @stock, it'll go to 3.8 for browsing internet, when gaming or stressing it'll go to 3.6.

anyway, press f5 in bios. ;p
