Small update (yet again)

Received a few things in the mail from Aquatuning.

Fittings galore! Now I can start mocking up routes for the copper tubing.

Heatkiller block has arrived.

Looking great? I think so!

Do I need a backplate?

Who could say no to something that looks that good?

That's all for now. Gotta wait another two weeks to get paid before I can order stuff again. See ya next update!

I think the ASRock OC Formula would go pretty well together with your yellow rings. The board is has a more orange looking color to it, but a little paint in the right spots would solve that. I know I plan to hit it up with an easily removable paint sooner or later.

It's also on sale right now as far as I know.

Great board as well.

I was actually looking at that board a little bit ago. I'm just a little hesitant when it comes to ASRock as I have not had the best luck with my Extreme4. I know it's a lower end board but it's becoming quite annoying and I've heard great things about ASUS. Although I personally disdain the ROG boards not for the tech but just the incredibly overplayed (IMO) red and black theme. So, I'm more leaning toward the Sabertooth Z77 board as I hear great things and it just looks superb in any setting. I will definitely keep the ASRock in mind though, thanks.

The OC formula is on a whole nother level from that board.

My only gripe is the 3/8" barbs on the vrm block. Luckily you have 2 options.

Use it as is and it will still cool very well, or get the MIPS block for the board.

I'm not a fan of the rog boards myself, I find the uefi layout a little messy. If it were my choice everything would be on one page as far as over clicking settings go.

Just checked the MIPS blocks out for it and wow, I know I shouldn't be surprised but they just look fantastic. I may have just found my new board. Thanks for your input thumb.gif

Agreed on the layout as well, I don't have one but my buddy does and I'm not a fan of the UEFI layout either.

Yeah, my buddy has the MVG...

I helped him out with his 2600K, and man... I felt icky afterwards.

I took like 3 showers, got a tetnis shot, and drank myself silly for a month solid.

I hope the OC Formula is as good to you as it has been to me. biggrin.gif

Recently got some pretty sweet things in the mail and have started some of the front panel modding along with some small case mods.

Did some slight beveling of the edges on the front panel.

Fan controller arrived and I'm pretty impressed with what I got. Every cable is black sleeved with black heat shrink and it looks really clean aside from the temp probe cables but those are black too.

Now that I have the fan controller i can finally cut the holes for in the front panel for it.

Cleaned up the cuts a bit.

Protective covering removed and you can see where I made a few mistakes. But not too bad for my first time working with acrylic, if I do say so myself. This is also going to be black along with a design in yellow.

Oh, what could this be?

Why they are the rads of course!

Alphacool ST30 360mm rad for the top

Alphacool Monsta 240mm for the front

No going back now. Plan is to use a different mesh styling for the front.

This bar was in the way.

A few rivets later and she was out.

Some more clearance issues have arisen.

All fixed (these will be repainted)

The bottom of the drive bays was also in the way for my plan so away it went.

The Monsta is looking...well quite monster-esque.

The front panel before:

And after. These will be cleaned up more and the plastic trim will also keep it looking nice and clean.

Just a little mock up to see what it will look like.

See ya next update!

do we really have to cut of the bottom of the 5.25 bay to fit a monsta rad? mine is already shipping on it's way.... i really do not want to cut the bay...

It made things a lot easier on me, I'll just say that. Otherwise I'm not sure if it will fit without some force and probably scratching up the rad, but even then. I'm 95% sure that it won't fit without cutting.

And next time use the spoiler tag so you don't quote all the images.

Why thank you! Patience is pretty much the name of the game and that's definitely not one of my strong suits haha.
