Looking for Suggestions: Windows 8 Tablet

Thread Starter
as title states, Im looking to buy a Windows 8 Tablet. Below are my requirements.

Budget: $800
Country: US
Primary Use: Teaching (emails, word, powerpoints, video)
Prefer: 3.0 USB-capable, cheap VGA adapters, Windows 8 (non-RT), 64GB memory at least, LONG battery life, attachable keyboard
Retailer: I prefer best buy due to a $50 gift card I have, but can do Newegg/Amazon/or whatever else.
Misc: I plan on using my external drives a lot, so the internal drive space isn't an issue really. I have a crappy dell at the school i work at and my home pc is in my sig. I prefer something with long battery life, and I know some companies like Asus have keyboards that make tablets go from 8hrs to 16hrs just by attaching the keyboard, which is nice. I like the long battery life especially when I leave charger at home and have the keyboard at work. Or if I take a long road trip or flight and I'm watching a movie. I know probably all of them have VGA capabilities with an adapter (included or not), so it will have to be included in the budget as well. I use the VGA primarily to display with schools screen projectors.

getting a USB3.0 port is the one limiting factor as not a lot of manufacturers make them. that being said, this one can be found way cheaper at Newegg than at Best Buy, so you can use the giftcard from something fun.

My friend told me this is a good windows 8 tablet.
Acer W700.
It'll have intel core i5 dual which it beat all of windows 8 tablets probably. It might cost extra 100 or 200 dollar however it is worth it.

You can go to Acer store and take a look at it.
Or to can grab the i3 one from there. I am pretty sure most of the windows 8 tablet use intel atom which is quite expensive for 800 dollar tablet.

waited a month and couldn't be happier smile.gif I was able to save up more and get this one instead. I was tempted at best buy to get the surface, but the battery life was not even close to this one. Plus this one comes with basically all the accessories I was planning on getting anyways. I'll post a pic later attaching the VGA to my classroom projector when its time to teach my students a new lesson.

Haha, that is what I just said, man.
Well, I'm glad that you like it, lol.
You should've got the 120GB or 128GB SSD one.
64GB SSD kind of sound to low even though you are paying extra more, but hey, it's worth it.
