Don't get the Xai,Sensei, I have a Xai which I don't use anymore because of the horrible acceleration on it , plus the coating was scratched up after a few years of use most significant thing was that I could actually hit things properly when I switched from the Xai to the Savu. Something I didn't think was possible. rolleyes.gif

See I've never understood this, as I have never had issues with any of my Steelseries laser mice, and I've used both them and mice that have no accel, and never noticed a difference, also do much better in FPS's with my Xai or Sensei than I ever did with stuff like a DA

Well I don't know what to tell you, just look at the flaws of the sensor itself and all the other mice that use it.. I didn't get it before. I was sure it was a good mouse. And I could hit stuff with it. After so many hours into it. And I did hit amazing shots with it in Tribes Ascend but those were random because of the accel , I couldn't control it . always just in the grasp of it. Anyway , after I switched to the A3090 sensor I was always on target.

You can just look at each mouse and the sensor used to see how it will perform. I'm sure someone is going to say that this or that is going to be the right choice. It boils down to if the sensor is accurate or not.. and sadly most aren't. Which is quite odd, but I'm thinking it's just the stupid DPI marketing and simply not knowing what precise is. Oh and btw, I didn't notice the difference from the Deathadder to the Xai that much either. But I did notice going from the Xai to the Savu..

I'm gonna say it again, look at the sensor before you buy!

And the shape is also very important, depending on your hand and grip style.

I learned most of this stuff from these threads a while back when I was looking for a new mouse.

Thread Starter
I had the deathadder 2013 but i like the 3.5g version better which i have now. i find it slipped out of my hand even more and the rubber side grip on the right side was annoying.

Apparently someone seems to always be hating on something else.

Just ignore everyone and get a G500 I guess. wink.gif

Well, if you still like the DA, but getting a new one is off the table then how about the EC1? Basically the same shape, but you can get it with the glossy 3.5G-style plastic coating all over it, or with smooth rubber that sticks well once your hands get sweaty.

BTW, if you've not used ambidextrous mice before I would try those out before buying. Transferring from ergonomic to ambidextrous and vice versa might take a while to get used to.

I just got the new G400s from logitech and I am beyond satisfied, my deathadder now lives in a drawer.

I am currently the satisfied owner of a Roccat
Savu

Hits precisely and stays comfy during long sessions.

Previously I had been using the steelseries xai which has a tracking flaw.. Well positive acceleration I think. Before that I had the Razer Deathadder, which I'd say still is a viable option. I just started getting symptoms of RSI with that mouse sadly. So by looking over the mice I've used, you should get an idea of my hand size. If by any chance it is similar to yours. I'd say my hands are midsized.

.. In a game like Tribes Ascend where hitting matters a great deal you can't go wrong with the Roccat Savu or any other mice that uses the same sensor. Which you can easily look up !

Oh and my xai also double clicks now that I think about it. The scrollwheel on that one is better though.

My impression when I first got it:

I just realised this is quite an old thread, my subscriptions tricked me. tongue.gif Even reading over my original post! Must have been the doings of staying up late. My apologies moderator's
