Hey OCN,
Recently i decided to go intel. ive got my mind on a gigabyte ga-z77x ud5h along with a 3770k, my current is a phenom 1045t and a 990fxa ud5.
what performance difference would i see on a scale from 0 (nothing at all) to 5 (double or triple the speed).
cheers guys

It would be a very nice increase, at least double the CPU power. However seeing as you already have a very nice AM3+ motherboard it would be a better option value wise to get an FX 8320 or 8350 instead.

I would either go 8350 now. Or wait for SR. Whenever that gets here.

But if he doesn't have any parts for 1155 sockets yet guys, why not wait 5 weeks for Haswell? For the same price he'd get 10% better performance, probably better OCing, less heat and better integrated graphics. (although nobody who seriously games really uses the last feature)

Ibooni is right. The 3770k would be a great upgrade if you did encoding, video editing. what will you mainly be doing?
