It would be nice to have a chart of the yearly discounts with dates and minimum amounts.
As it is shopping with performance-pcs is not worth it under $50 because of their awful shipping. They overcharge to make a profit on it. I just tried to purchase 11.1g Of Thermal Grizzly Kryonaught for $23.95, but shipping would have been $8.20 for USPS Priority, the "cheapest" option. They state right there that it weighs .25 pounds. That's 4 ounces, which DOES NOT cost that much to ship even if you use USPS Priority Mail. It's complete bull, they're profiting off of shipping.
That's a light product and only costs about $2.18 to actually ship using USPS First class (which isn't even an option?!), certainly <6 for Priority.
Performance PCS is profiting off of shipping!
Furthermore, on a previous order I paid something like $6+ for shipping two tubes of Phobya LM (about $7.50 a piece). And the shipping cost on the label said $3.50. That is messed up. I don't care how "little" it is. #1 I'm on a budget, and #2 it's just plain wrong. Screw Performance PCS.
Yeah because nobody has to physically find/collect your items, pack them and boxes, packing peanuts, bubble wrap, shipping envelopes, and shipping labels are all free.
USPS Priority Boxes are free.
A few pieces of tape and paper costs cents and should not be added to orders. It's the cost of operation.
Packing is extremely inexpensive in bulk as well, also part of the cost of operation. Call it overhead plain and simple and be done with it. Business 101: Don't nickel and dime your customers. Don't overcharge for shipping would be #2.
USPS First class isn't available because it gives them an excuse to charge more to make profit, or perhaps because it takes plain boxes and they only use the free USPS boxes (which are priority/flat rate only). I don't know the economics of it but it's a reasonable explanation.
Packing and printing labels are done by people who are paid to do that. It's not an extra expense. It's an expense period. What if it said "Electricity" under shipping and handling, and "Boxes" and "Printer Toner" oh and don't forget "tips". We really need those. /s
Perhaps they are setting their prices low to draw in customers and setting shipping high to make up for it. EIther way whatever they're doing is incredibly shady and I intend to take a photo of my order and the amount of the label when I order next month. The discount code doesn't even fully cover the extra cost! It's over 10% extra And here we are 300+ posts in going bananas for the 8% discounts when it reality we're just being given almost normal prices for a day.
If they want to fix shipping and keep profits the same then they should set item prices like everyone else on earth does, - sell them for what they want to make, and charge the cost of shipping to the customer. That's more efficient thatn free shipping for both parties as it doesn't outprice potential buyers with excessive pricing and it doesn't short change the seller because the exact shipping cost is covered.
I just went to make an order with a few more things to make it more efficient and a damn 11 gram tube of thermal paste in a plastic bag for packaging raised the shipping price by 3 freaking dollars. I have to pay $12 to ship 4 items weighing less than 13 ounces packed. It should have been <$4. With an order total near $58 how is that OK?
THAT'S LITERALLY OVER 20% ON SHIPPING!
