These mice have what I call a "big butt", not on top, but on the side. The DB, the Naga, the Deathadder, and even the Mad Catz R.A.T. don't have that, making these mice feel similar regardless of how far back I'm holding them.

About the Sensei/Kana. Do they really have internal acceleration and can it be turned off?

The acceleration can be turned off. If it is on when I am playing I don't notice all that much as I play a lot of sc2. I don't have a kana
Interesting that you find the "butt" of the sensei larger than the deathadder as the as it is technically a few mm smaller in its width. Maybe I'm still misunderstanding a little.
But if you're looking for a mouse that is easy to palm and claw while not moving your fingers back as much try the theron, its actually pretty nice and can change the weights in it as well. It has a lower profile and seems to fit well in the hand and if you're just adjusting your fingers slightly it shouldn't feel too weird as it feel a little shorter than some the deathadder and the sensei. If you'd like some side by side pictures just let me know of what and I wouldn't mind posting them.

I might just open a CMstorm Spawn and a Genius Maurus (both A3090 sensor) and try to fit the internals into the copperhead. Then some wiring might be necessary.
Of course when I have the time.

Take a look at this http://assets.overclock.net.s3.amazonaws.com/d/d7/d73e88b6_vbattach217663.jpeg. The Spawn's board won't fit into the Copperhead's shell.

How much does the Theron weigh when all weights are taken out?

Weight-In Design for Perfect Handling Mouse Movement x 4.5g, up to 22.5g max
Not sure what it is with out the weights but it is pretty damn light. I don't have a scale to measure the weight without the weights, but it seems a little lighter than the sensei which is 90g.

Are you sure? I believe the normal Sensei is heavier than the Sensei Raw.

I'd suggest going Frankenstein mouse using the Cobra Jr since they're readily available and about $10 shipped.

Its also super comfortable (unfortunately its internals suck, or it would be THE Diamondback replacement).

Put the DB internals into the Cobra? I suppose that would work, although I'd have to replace the DB's worn out switches. It would also leave me with only 5 buttons, wouldn't it?
Another idea I'm toying with is cutting pieces out of the M.M.O. 7's heavy frame and designing a V-shape side grip of my own, but I'm not sure I can pull that off.

I meant use the shell of the Cobra Jr but the internals of something else with a good sensor, and you'll have a new age DB.

Not use the DB internals.

What's wrong with the DB's sensor/internals? On my desk right now there's a Roccat Kone Pure and a Mad Catz M.M.O. 7. For my purposes the DB's sensor is superior to both. It tracks well. It has a very low LOD, and it doesn't jump on lift. I'm not dismissing your suggestion. I'd simply like to know what other mouse you would suggest I cannibalize?
The only thing I dislike about my old DB, other than the fact that it's broken, is the low number of extra buttons. If I could get a mouse with the same sensor and a few extra buttons, I'd be perfectly fine with a slightly different shape and even additional weight. Otherwise the R.A.T. 3 Revised wouldn't be on top of my list of mice to try.

How many DBs you have?

They're hard to find. So build your own with the same shape (Cobra jr) and great internals from another readily available source.

Follow?
