On the topic of reliability and how long it keeps it's speeds. Seems like plextor ain't joking

Just watched the video about this drive on Newegg.... added it to the cart smile.gif

I think I'm just about ready to push the order button.... getting there... should be a nice system.

Again... appreciate the help everyone.

Okay.... so here is the list.. it's a pdf... I know someone mentioned I should type out everything... honestly... I'm being lazy... have a look and let me know what you think.

Also... what do you all think about extended warranties? Should I just go with the manufacture warranty on the items? Is the extra $120 a waste?

Thanks,
Hatch Newegg_Final-List.pdf 56k .pdf file

Depends on some factors, the plextor SSD doesn't need extra warranty that's for sure tongue.gif
I doubt 3 years is not enough for most parts

Yeah SSD is a must for photoshop and games now even. What you could do on a serious note though is ontop of getting ssd get 16 gigs of ram wich is good, and I would do more and actully create a ramdisk for photoshop. Its been known to increase performance by alot. I will review your other material and get back. I saw you contemplating on ssd and had to say its a great buy especially since your buildign a new pc. You dont need that much ram though for gaming still maybee 8 is actully more than enough.

I was thinking the extra warranty on the gfx cards would be a good idea... need to look over the warranties for all the products one more... things have changed so much.. in the cart... I've lost track LOL:thumb:

Your system is going to be bad ass, I would not bother with the extra warranty, what comes with the components is usually plenty.

I think it is pretty well dialed in for what I want to use it for and the budget I have. It's morphed a lot since the thread started and it's all because you guys/gals have been fantastic helping shape the system.

Buy button gets pushed at midnight (Phoenix) so any other tweaks or things I might have missed... please let me know.

Thanks again,
Hatch

Anything that runs cool and continues working on for after 3 months is way out of my "sure-death zone" biggrin.gif

Here is unreliable Samsung,6000 Terabytes.By the way that is MLC NAND World Record.

Plextors got great SSDs,but Samsungs got better.
