Random blocks on desktop

Recent new build, have a ASUS HD 7850 2GB version. Running on 1 monitor was fine. It was only after I connected the second monitor that I'd notice flickering blocks on my monitor. Is this a driver issue or likely something wrong with the card I have?

Build:
AMD PhenomII X6 1090T
8GB RAM
ASUS matx AM3 board
ASUS DirectCU HD 7850 2GB
Seasonic 420W PSU

This is not in any game, just straight up browsing internet after booting up.

Edit: Another update, it seems I can't get both monitors to work after a reboot. Methinks something is awry with the second DVI cable. Anyone seen something like this before?

Is it a small checkerboard pattern in random areas? It happens with me sometimes - i believe its because of memory, try lowering it a bit.

Yes it is. Parts of the Start Button flickers and random rows of checkerboard patterns appear in a few places. Can you elaborate what you mean by lowering the memory?

Its kind of weird - even at stock memory settings on my Matrix 7970 i get checkerboarding randomly. On my card its 1650mhz @ 1.6v...i find if i lower it to 1600mhz and maybe 1.55v it goes away - sometimes i have to reboot.

It happens on any driver version for me. Lower it a tad using Afterburner and see what happens.

It doesn't really help. Funny thing is, without the second monitor, this doesn't seem to show up. Only when I attach the second one does it happen. What I will test now is if its the DVI port. Do you have any idea why this happens?

Also, when I'm playing games or whatnot (and one of the monitors is being used) there is no sign of these extra blocks. I guess if it gets too bad, I'll have to send it in for a RMA. That's too bad if it comes to that though, I was really enjoying it.
