I would gladly buy 1000 dollars/euro card if games would be on same level, meaning that they would look like UE4 tech demo. Also i would expect some more performance if i put 1000€ to single card.

Nvidia doesn't care what we think and TBH, stock holders are incredibly happy about the 1b$ payout a little while ago so...Again, our opinions really don't matter. thumb.gif

I did get my 3960x at a very good price though (; but yeah like yourself I couldn't spend that much money on a GPU. Think of all the other cool stuff you could do with it.. Seriously we're at the point where at £100 - £200 GPU gets the job done very well. Each to their own though you know.

You can't spend that much money on a gpu but you bought a 3960x. To me the 3960x is much more rediculous than the Titan. The 3930k is around $500 so the 3930k-3960x is the same as 680-Titan regarding price. At least the titan offers way more performance than the 680. The 3960x is not much faster than the 3930k.

Anyone who buys a 3960x can't laugh at titan owners or say they can't imagine spending $1000 on a gpu.

It's weird because everyone kills Nvidia for the titan price but you don't really see the same hate regarding Intel with the 3960x.

NVIDIA at least released an amazingly fast gpu that killed the 680 especially at high resolutions. You can't say the same for the 3960x compared to 3930k.

3960x is a complete waste of money. I don't feel the same about the titan.

Price Vs. Performance -- 2 680's - are better then 1x Titan and cost the same -- By over 20%, especially when OC'd.

Your price argument is a failure because the 3930k in no way/shape/form/function can out-perform the 3960x...However, 2x 680's for the same price as a Titan, outperform the card, easily/steadily.

Couple of points, Titan OCs better than 680s so the gap will be smaller with both setups OCd. (also frame times and issues).

You can buy two 3930Ks and keep the one that clocks better instead of getting a 3960X. You end up with a faster CPU. 3930K and 3960X perform identically at same clocks. Or identically enough that you can't distinguish the two due to random variations in bench scores and so on. There's also a reason why kingpin, etc. use 3930Ks, at least before the 3970X came out you were more likely to get a good 3930K than a good 3960X. Now it's about the same.

The only reason to buy a 3960X is to get a black sticker. With the Titan you at least get a GPU that's 40-50% faster than the 680. You can't get anything else if you want a GPU that fast.
