If that was true, we'd be paying a trillion dollars for a 1TB hard drive.

I agree...I mean, what's after that, a $1300 Maxwell because it performs the same and is much more efficient? What about a $2000 Maxwell 2.0 since it's a lot faster??

You'd be right if we were seeing big increases in price for every segment and for every GPU but that's not the case.

We're talking about a single top of the line card that's priced just like ultra high end cards have been always priced in this industry. It's not any sort of a precedent for how normal GPUs will be priced. After some price drops AMD cards are priced almost exactly like they've been priced before. There's nothing to worry about a single high end card.

Yeah. And then they're going to release TITAN X5 OVER9000GIGGLEHURTZ EDITION. Because, you know, 3DFX once did a quad GPU board... And they have to beat AMD while taking 3DFX's crown, and while they're at it, beat the graphical horsepower that Vegeta had in his HUD visor.

Oh internet.

Nvidia get away with it because people buy their crap no matter the price tag.

This is true, as long as a company is selling a product they have no reason to alter the product or lower the price. People buy titans much the same reason others buy ferraris, for the flashiness of "look what I got" Titan is over priced for what it brings to the table, but if people continue to buy it Nvidia will continue to have high prices associated with it. Everyone knows that titan is the worst perf/dollar product, but they continue to buy them anyway.

My SLI 670 ftws power through everything I throw at them, perfectly happy. Titan is a joke and a marketing gimmick, and people need to spend $2K to beat people who spent $800.
