5.25" Fan Controller with Motherboard Pass-through?

Thread Starter
Hi,
I'm wondering if there is a fan controller out there that I can use to control three SilverStone AP181 fans while still allowing the motherboard to read their RPMs?

I have a SilverStone FT02, and when I'm gaming I flip the switches connected to my AP181s to "High" (which improves my GPU temps by about 5 degrees C and my CPU temps by about 7 biggrin.gif), but when I'm just browsing the web, emailing, etc. I prefer my system as quiet as possible, so I flip the AP181s to "Low".
The problem with my method, is that in order to switch the fan modes I have to remove the top cover of my FT02... frown.gif

So I looked around and found (can't remember where) that if I set the switch on the fans to "High" I can control the speed of the fans with a voltage-based fan controller... Now for my question:

Is there a 5.25" bay fan controller (preferably brushed aluminum tongue.gif) that I can connect the AP181s to, that also has a pass-through to the motherboard so that hardware monitors (I use HWiNFO64) can detect/display the RPMs of the fans???

If not, then I'll probably just buy a controller that displays the RPM of the fans on it (any recommendations??? smile.gif )

Thanks-in-advance,

hi i currently have a zalman mfc plus 6channel controller
check on ebay
it comes with what you have in mind.
it can control 3pin /4pin fans.ive got 2 120mm cm extraflo pwm fans in my 5.25 bays runninf absolutely fine on 1 channel with a splitter.u can use a pwm splitter and run 1 to you motherboard for rpm monitoring purposes
check on these forums with member - doyll - he did a mod with his fans getting power from the psu but they all get pwm signal from cpu fan socket

http://www.ebay.com/itm/ZALMAN-ZM-MFC1-Plus-6Channel-Multi-Fan-Controller-Black-/200810043200

if this doenst work for you
try the lamptrons, schythes kaze master(if you can get 1)
nzxt sentry
there are plenty
