Flashed BIOS to 3603, Windows will sometimes stall

Hey guys,

I recently decided to flash my BIOS for the first time since I got my ASUS Maximus IV Extreme Motherboard. I had horrible problems with my sound card due to distortion and it was suggested that I flash my MB to fix it. I did, but since it was literally my first time doing it, I used the ASUS Update through Suite II. I followed the instructions to the letter and flashed it twice. But now whenever I start the computer 90% of the time Windows stalls are startup when it says Starting Windows... It doesn't load the animation and just sits there until I hard reset.

Sometimes it goes through right away, but most of the time it just stalls. When it does go through, everything works fine. After the update I reset the battery on my MB and went through all the settings to make sure they were identical to the prior BIOS I was on and it still doesn't change anything. However, when I load up the second BIOS with the original 1103 version on it, everything loads up fine.

Any help would be appreciated.

I've been having this same problem forever.
What do you have SATA set as? ACHI, RAID or IDE?
Do you know if your HDD are formatted as MBR or GPT?
