It's good for an OEM manufacturer, but with a DIY rig, you can usually do it for cheaper, and with better parts. OEM manufacturers cheap out on RAM, motherboards, cases, and PSUs quite frequently. You could build a really sick rig for $2000, even with the 24" monitor.

dude slow down, if your thinking about buying it AFTER the holidays, wait for the kentsfield, then custom build your own gaming PC. then you can put whatever you thuink you'll need in it, without having to pay for anyone to build it, and you can buy the 24" lcd on your own. might help your money troubles too

Gateway = get away i dont want to sound pessimistic but i used to own a gateway and all i got was trouble , every year a new psu, 2 dead hds , moinotr craped out 3 times, and a very very very bad technical support, . the thing is that alot of my friends had the same problems. not to forget to mention that their delivery time is at least 1.5 months.

Btw my system was not overclock and was not abused

Kentsfield came out last month already. Wait till the new Core 2 Duo and Quadro processors due out early next year. They require a 1333 FSB and will drive down prices of current Core 2s.
Once again...
