The Deliding Delima - Page 3

Thread Starter
My loop is pretty much the XSPC RX360 kit. RX360 rad, XSPC Rasa cpu block, X2O 750 res+pump combo and two XSPC Razor GPU blocks. The reason I was thinking of deliding right away was because I thought it will be easier since I am putting my stuff in a new Switch 810. But I guess I can run it for a while and then see about getting the CPU out and deliding.

You must ask yourself first. -

If this goes wrong how easy will it be to replace this processor.
Very. Remove the cooler, and pop a new one back in smile.gif

How good is it without doing it?
Not enough. Otherwise I wouldn't.

What type of cooler do you have
State of the art for SFF systems. Still not enough for what I want.

What am I doing this?... I:E, Folding, Gaming, Regular PC stuff.....
Everything. Lifespan included.

The first one is the most important, cause if it does go wrong. You're out a $200+ processor....

Answers in blue. As I see it, delidding was not an option, but a must for me. I am also crafty when it comes to hand working and tool working, so I wasn't afraid to kill it. Just a bit nervous because my hand steadiness is rather deficient biggrin.gif

Of course, rule of thumb applies. If you can't afford it, don't do it. In my case, I could.

I tend to agree with you.

If delidding gives me a 10C drop, that would mean I can use a much cheaper air cooler, like a $40 job rather than a $110 water cooler. And run more silent.
