And here I bought a 7970Ghz over the weekend after racking my brain quite a bit. mad.gif I should just go ahead and prep myself for the incoming price drop to salt the wound again!

Quite frankly I would like to see this bundle stuff stop and the companies actually compete with price drops instead of added stuff. When I buy a GPU I want a GPU.

You are right, I stand corrected. While I can't complain about free games, at the same time I wish the same as getting a hold of cheap games for PC these days is much easier. The fact that my GPU loses value instantly (more so AMD cards) on the used market due to the bundle is annoying.

Okay guys keep it civil and on topic.

Attack the argument instead of the user and don't type in the word fanboy and everything is fine...

If you bought from amazon, it might make sense to do a return... clearly AMD and nVidia are both coming with new stuff that will be faster at the same price, or will cause it to become substantially cheaper eek.gif.

Sure it wouldn't have the compute capability of Titan but the die size would be radically smaller.

I don't why anyone sane would shell out $700 for a GPU that is overpowered for most uses, with 1/24 compute like the GK104s. GTX 780 better have compute. At that price, you could buy 2x GTX 680s, 2x GTX 670s or the rumored GTX 760 Ti (in SLI).

If this article is remotely true expect to pay 700$ for GTX 780. And all the masses will come running, like fools.

Personally I'm out of the refresh cycle for a while, I will wait until price/perf increases. Maybe 2 gens from now. Meh

The reason is GTX 580s still match/exceed GTX 680s in AUTOCAD and other apps that have people actually willing to shell out serious money.

Probably because the huge majority of the people buying these cards don't do any CAD work or use compute to any meaningful degree at all. If it actually mattered to people they wouldn't be buying GK104 but they are.

I could see a Kepler refresh this year but when is up in the air.

I wouldn't expect much though. I'm guessing the only purpose of a rebrand is stir up new sales.

But repeating that amd offers more fps worse drivers and perks than nVidia never gets old.

My rule of thumb gtx, sli, trifire, quadfire. Sure the 670 gives you less fps but nVidia has never let me down. If my first card was an ati card I would probably stick with them unless they pissed me off.

When (should be soon) amd fixes the supposed stuttering issues things will fall into the proper places again.

Do little things(issues) piss you off: go nVidia
Do you want the most fps for your money: go AMD

This has been largely true over the years... starting from my first ATI card (9700 pro) onward through the present.
