[BSN] The 2013 Nvidia Lineup: GTX780 is Titan LE, GTX770 is GTX680, GTX760Ti is GTX670? - Page 36

I don't see the big reason to drop the 7xx series now either. They are still doing very well on sales with the current 6xx cards (unless that has changed in the last month or so and hasn't been captured by any of the analysts yet) and the rumored 7xx series doesn't sound like anything special (I mean, really, renaming the 4GB GTX 680 as a GTX 770?). So they drop a new series that is 10% faster across the board (maybe 30% with the 780) - what happens in 8 months when AMD drops the 8xxx series? That's almost certainly going to be more than 10% faster than the 7xxx series, which puts Nvidia back behind again while they wait for Maxwell.

The only explanation that makes sense is either they have started seeing sales of the 6xxx cards slipping, or they have gotten tired of messing around and want to try to put a death blow on AMD.

Or, they're just doing what AMD did with the GHZ edition to take back the "crown".

Yes, I'm ignoring the $1000 cards with that statement.

They'll be ahead again for the next 6 - 8 months, and when AMD drops 8xxx, 8xx won't be far behind, and we're back at square 1 again.

Main thing I hope this time around is proper voltage control. 1.212v is not enough it only gets me to 50C I want my nvidia space heater back.

What they are going to do is force amd to drop their prices on their cards and people will buy those instead..

You guys don't see the point?
It's called a business model.
Just like the 500 series was a rehash of Fermi with slightly more powerful iterations (GF110), the 700 series will be a rehash of Kepler with (this is the slightly odd part) only one more powerful iteration (GK110, the 780). The one thing I still don't understand; why make only the 780 GK110, and keep the 770 and 760ti GK104? In comparison to the 500 series, it's like they're trying to screw people.

Nvidia KNOWS that as soon as they release this new series, they're gonna make plenty of cash off of it (believe it or not, there are people who do not look into this, and they'll blindly buy whatever card is in their budget (ex: they'll buy a 770 regardless of how cheap the 680 has become, not knowing they're the same card)), as it has worked before.
Trust me, they have good reasons for not wavering from their model.

^^ I don't care what they do. Rebadge, defeature, kill a goat. Whatever. As long as I get 20% more than the 680 I'll buy it. End of day, all that matters is FPS (unless you do compute stuff).

Sources tell about GTX 780 being Titan LE but with regards of GTX 770 and lower I wont be so sure about gk104. Do not go ahead of a time.

Nvidia naughty, Titan LE and 780 and for the price of $ 499 ~ $ 599R will be a great investment, considering that we have now and TITAN Ultra that came by 1000r costs more than $ $ rolleyes.gif

How is BSN's track record for predictions and leaks? All the info here makes sense so it passes my sensors. 12 months seems like a perfect time to release new cards, hopefully amd will not wait to release cards but last release nVidia priced their cards without care of amds current prices.

The more I think if it, the more I see no reason to buy a titan except if you are in 3-4 way sli witch is about 0.0000000000000001% of the market lol. If you want a single slot gpu you are better off with 590 and if you you don't mind having 2 card well two 680 4gb make more sens then a titan ever will. Now they are releasing a 780. If they drop prices of the 680 and the 780 replace that price braket they killed the titan market for sure, and If they release those 780 at 750-650$ price tag well then anyone would be better off buying two 7970 then a single 780. If one want to buy two at that price he should go for 3 680 and get better performance for the same price.

So pretty sure they will have to cut out the old 6xx out of the market for it to make sens for the consumer.
