Depending on where the guy sat this could be a big blow or not, if he was involved in any of the actual engineering work it will be a bigger problem than if he was just a people manager.
If he's an Exec, he's probably sitting in meetings 1/2 of his time. 3 private market tests are happening now. Intel should
still be able to deliver the hardware and software by the end of this year. Already have the interests of Time Warner, NBC Universal, Viacom, and News Corp. Talks with Disney and few other companies have been underway. The effect of the manager's departure is still to be seen.
It will be a VERY difficult market to compete in. Netflix and Hulu have pretty much handled most of the on-demand market, Amazon is going to try to sneak its way in, and Microsoft is trying it's own thing as well.
