Ram settings advice

Thread Starter
Ok so i just bought some new ram. I went with the corsair pc4000 ddr 500 3-4-4-8 to replace my current corsair pc3200 ddr400 2-3-3-6.

My system is running as follows now:
2.75 ghz
250 fsb
11x multi
4x ht
Ht link is right at 1000
Ram is:
166
195.5 frequency
2-3-3-6 1t
So my question is what setting can i change when i drop the new ram in? Can i change the 166 to 180 or even 200 and keep everything else the same? I have heard that ram running up to 290 with 3-4-4-8 timings.. My current ram wont break 205 at 2-3-3-6.

Had you asked before buying I'd have said you shouldn't pair Corsairs with DFI.
Back to the point, you should put the CPU @stock and the ram @DDR400. From this point on you should raise the FSB to find the max ram stable frequency. If all goes well you'll end up with a 250FSB and the ram @DDR500.

Theres a Stock Speed database over at DFI-Street (the official DFI forums) - search it using the search function for your RAM and you should find a list of detailed settings.
