What is the best overclock out of a X1900 Crossfire edition graphics card?

Thread Starter
What is the best overclock out of the Connect 3D X1900 Crossfire edition single graphics card? I have a very good feeling that I can get alot higher but is there really a need and will I see much of a difference in game play (FPS)? I would like to get a good amount above the clocks of a X1900xtx card so if anyone has any ideas, please help me out. I have also tried ATI tool and for some reason I can never get the proper overclocking settings right which causes instability unlike ATI Catalyst 6.11 (668/774MHz).

Usually instability with ATitool OCs involves:
a) ignorance of how to use atitool (I was initially guilty of this with my xtx)
b) Wrong version of atitool beta (right now 14 and 16 are the best though I still use 14 as I KNOW it works and how to toy with it)
c) I've been told that Atitool won't loosen the latencies on the mem like Catalyst does. Take that with a grain of salt.

Do you remember that you HAVE to set the voltage up to 1.4/1.425v (xt&cf/xtx) manually? If you don't it runs at 2D clocks and reduced voltages. I don't use the artifact counter it has never worked right for me on any version.

Temperatures matter! I've seen a thorough trend that temps>70C KILL the oc to the tune of 30-40mhz! I'm currently loading at ~70C and cannot get stable at above 740MHz. When I was loading at <60C, I was pushing 766MHz stable. The temp increases are currently due to a makeshift goofball w/c set up I've got going while my CPU block comes in... UGH.

Anyhow. Good luck.
