AMD Catalyst 13.5 BETA 2 (12.102.3.0 April 16) - Page 34

So does Last Light actually play well with the new update or is it just so so right now? I don't want to get the game until I can play it with everything on max (except AA of course) like my card should be able to play it and like I have played every other game. biggrin.gif

BTW These drivers have proved stable and problem free for me. My overclock is staying exactly where it was and everything plays nice and fluid. Very happy with everything so far and just holding out on Last Light which is probably better because games (I find) are best played a month or two after they come out so some of the major things get addressed and I get the best possible experience.

Last Light runs fantastic now. ALL that was needed was the game patch. So many people claiming faulty drivers on a game AMD had nothing to do with. Performance has nearly doubled with this patch. No more shadow or texture flickering. It runs really smooth. I don't understand how they can release a game with not just sub par performance(which can be expected being sponsored), but with the horrible graphic anomalies that it had on release. Just glad to see it was resolved so quickly.
I should add this latest driver has run very well. Bioshock, BF3, Tomb Raider, and now Last Light have all been problem free.

Nothing but bliss with this driver. However enabling triple buffer in CCC causes radeon pro to not run dynamic Vsync properly. I need triple buffer for SFxT because it helps compensate with frame skips online for some reason.

I do have 1 question though. Does anyone have a problem with startup applied clocks on MSI AB. This is not specific driver related but I felt asking here would be fine. MSI AB starts up before the CCC which causes CCC to make my gpu stock clocked again. While this is of little concern, on the off chance I forget to apply the clocks again, it causes my pc to crash during games. I don't reboot my pc too often, maybe every few days, so its not a huge concern, but I'm curious if this happens to others.

Anyone else had the problem of these 13.5 b2 drivers using eyefinity.... currently have 2 x MSI Twin Frozr 7950 BE in crossfire eyefinity setup like so

Monitor 1 from mini dp -> HDMI (Adaptor)
Monitor 2 from HDMI -> HDMI (Direct)
Monitor 3 from active mini dp -> VGA (Adaptor)

Setup works fine 13.4 downwards but now with 13.5 b2 installed monitor 3 refuses to fire up and will not detect s signal, this i believe has something to do with with the adaptor becuase no matter which monitor i run off it or which mini dp i plug it into its the same result everytime, am i missing something here or is it just a bug with the driver itself. while i realise it is a Mini DP to VGA it was the only active adaptor i could find at the time not sure if it would make a difference using a diff active adaptor....

Edit...

Tested on both clean installs of windows 8 and windows 7 so its not a issue with old drivers/software

Got a chance to game a little tonight. I realize at 120hz most my games still work better with one GPU than two or three. It does not matter how many frames a second your GPU's are drawing frames. Its always smoother with one GPU. I could not say the same for nvida cards I owned before.
If anyone here is thinking of buying a second GPU don't bother until AMD fixes this frame latency. I can't believe no one else notices this. I even notice it at frame cap and 96FPS. 60FPS with one GPU will look better than 96FPS with 96hz or 120FPS with 120hz in pretty much every game I can think of... including new games like Crysis 3 or Far Cry 3 where you think a second GPU would help... think again.

That's annoying and one of the reasons i always hated Sli/crossfire systems. I wonder if it will ever work as it should without issues. Maybe for you the GTX Titan would have been the better deal.

Nvidia payday.

It didn't take them long to fix because they likely knew exactly what was wrong with it.

Does anyone else notice a lot of stutter with single gpu or multi gpu in bioshock infinite? I think it might be loading stutter but not sure if it's driver related?

Massive thread @ 2k about this problem

http://forums.2kgames.com/showthread.php?222176-Stuttering-Hitching-Pauses-even-on-high-end-PC-hardware

I have this micro stuttering (as well as the min load hitches) & ive only managed about an hour of play in BSI since in installed it well over a month ago

Seems IG have replicated the problem are working on a patch for it because 2k support tweeted this earlier in the week.

"Hi there. Progress is being made on this and there should be more news sometime this week."

Still with there track record of fixing things im not holding my breath....good job i got this as a freebie with my card/order or id be as pissed as some of the guys in that thread.

i had this issue with Bioshock for single GPU. i upped up my power limit to 20% and enabled Vsync in game and it's all great looking now. still some unnoticeable frame skipping but over all performance is great
