Only possibly scenario that would cause me to side grade to haswell, would be if my new Gigabyte X79 UD7 needs to be RMAed for issues out of the box or it explodes like some of them have in the past. In which case I'd get a full refund because they don't make them anymore and I'd replace it with the new Gigabyte OC Force, MSI X Power or ASUS Extreme (because I love the new Z87 boards) and a 4770k in my test bench and absolutely murder/torture the CPU until Ivy-e came out, then I'd go back to 2011.

Otherwise no, I'll wait for ivy-e and upgrade my board regardless, maybe get a 4930k if it's not a flop, if they suck then get a new 3930k and go over 5000mhz.

Q6600 to a 4770k hopefully in about 2weeks(Will be going on a vacation and driving right by a microcenter KS). But I will be waiting for ASUS ROG boards after that if they aren't out yet.

You won't regret it. I also went from Q6600 @ 3.4Ghz from six years ago to 4770k @ 4.6 GHz. yesterday.

Man has tech changed in the last 6 years, I must have been living in a cave.

Hopefully 4770k can last me another 6 years as the Q6600 was a beast and done pretty much anything I threw at it!

RIP Q6600, best value for money cpu ever!

Just got a used i7 870 to replace my old e8400. should be more than enough to play humblebundle games.
They are selling the serious sam series right now.

Doesn't matter what you upgrade to as long as you are enjoying the process biggrin.gif
I love tinkering with my build between gaming sessions, and if I had the money would probably upgrade the whole thing every year just to play with the hardware.
I do get at least one upgrade per year in my machine, Last year saw SSD's, this year Haswell, Next year Maxwell smile.gif

X2. I was originally going to get a 2500k but I decided to wait for the 3770k. Then I again decided to wait for haswell and it looks like I'll finally get the 4770k.

Should be a nice improvement to go from a 955 + hd to 4770k + ssd.

Just upgraded from E8400 to 4770K. WOW. So weird to hear people talking about their "low" 4.4GHz overclocks when I had to push my old chip all out just to get to 4!

Will be going from a i7 950 @ 4ghz to a 4770k and can hopefully get it to at least 4.4ghz after and i'll be happy Will most likely be deliding with a vice and hammer (I don't trust my hands with a razor lol) and I might just upgrade from my h100 to a xspc rs240 kit to get my feet wet tongue.gif in some real water cooling. My current setup has served me well for the past 3 years but i'm starting to get the itch to tinker with new stuff. That coupled with a 780 and a nice new 27in 120hz monitor and i'll be set for the next 3 years before I make another big leap.
