Same as me. Just sold the old i5-760 girl, along my Gigabyte P55-UD5 as of right now. And going for the i5-4670k and Gigabyte Z87X UD4H or UD5H.
It was just time to let go of socket 1156 platform.

Lasted me quite a while that old bird biggrin.gif Got it a few weeks after release with a 5850 and 8gb of ram going from some old dual core amd processor and an X800XT PE, felt like a freaking supercomputer! Can't wait to stick another 7950 in my rig now, the upgrade bug has well and truely taken hold!

I would have grabbed a used Q95xx quad chip a long time ago and not kept that E8400 for so long,
or at least some other C2Q (quad) chip.
no way I could still be on a straight older dual core in today's age, even my 'tech bench' has an i3 in it
and it doesn't game..

I think my I7 980 will last until it burns out. Clocks to 4.3 @ 1.3v, 4.4 @1.35, 4.5 @ 1.4 and maxing out in the mid 80s on the last.

Got my games running off an SSD and SLI GTX 680s, I doubt I would get much improvement from a new socket and CPU.
