So... If Rift does take off, and everyone has one... I'll be left behind frown.gif

Thankfully, I don't see it replacing my KB and mouse, which is about as much as I can do without too much pain. Need an ergo workstation mad.gif

To crazy Rift fans. It's a personal joke about the comment I'm quoting. Not hating on the Rift. Clarified.

Sorry to hear that if true, for the rest of us though.. this seems like a dog fighting simulator from my childhood dreams, and I can't wait to play it.

cant stop watching rift videos. it seems to not just be a "heh, thats pretty cool" but more of a " wow, thats insane i feel like im there and things are flying at me"

people seem to get falling sensations also which im looking forward too as they have mastered the illusion of hight. If your a small character you 'feel' small or tall depending ! the idea of feeling different through visual perception is something that only a top flight 2D setup (usually large projection) can get close too, even then this seems way ahead.

just want it to be super high resolution if im honest. I think leaning tech would make it perfect but apparently that wont ship in the final model. I think in future even eye focus could replace DOF effects as a camera could capture where you focus with todays technology even. Its all coming together finally for Virtual Reality .. cant wait thumb.gif

There is one worrying thing ive noticed and its probably something you have to get used to, you feel like your killing people in game properly according to a lot of the reviews ive seen which is a strange idea i know ! we might have to see more games that factor in human emotion and exploration rather than bloody kill baths as it would be too much to take after a while

It'd be awesome if eve did, but then they would take away one of the defining game mechanics that people have enjoyed for many many years. I think eve is perfectly fine as it is, I've played it off and on since around 06. But SC is what I'm really excited for. Good showing for eve though, proving they "can" make this.

I don't think they would change the way EVE is now but I looked into there whole demo thing and they made it within a couple weeks of having the OR on their own time. Personally if they refined it and added some more features then released it as a standalone game I'd definitely buy it because I know I'd have a blast playing it.

Maybe, but I cannot see CCCP breaking into a third devoted team to give it proper support right now. They are still working on the PS3 game and the new update is coming soon. I just don't see it happening. Nice to see they have the ability in house to create something, and I can see this tech adding to the "station" and walking around the ships whenever they finally add that.

Dear god I hope not.

I want them to fix 0.0 so I might be inclined to return in a casual manner. Nothing like a jump lagfest to see who has loaded grid when you cyno or roam in someones space.

As the keeper of everything Quake, I feel I must point out that Quake released in 1996. Even QTest was released in 1996 (February).
