I did mention that in my first post as well...
different mem sizes.

edit:
sell one of them and then pair the other like stated earlier..

There are a few facts to remember here

1) You shouldn't have bought two different cards with two different amount of VRAM to start with, but as you say your new to it so probably didn't know any different. This is the problem with temptation when someone is offering a bargain, we all go full steam ahead to get hold of it without thinking

2) You can probably get it working with hacks / tweaking software so ask those who have done it

3) Everyone here is trying to help, no point telling them they are wrong if you don't know yourself...if you have contacts of people who do know because they have experience in doing so ask them via PM. I was just running through the basics with you to make sure everything is as it should be.

Easier solution, sell the 2GB card and get another 4GB model thats the same or visa versa

try the coolbits

if that doesn't work just try and trade one or the other to get a matching pair

in the control panel it will say maximize 3D performance, you select that and it enables SLI once you have everything right

Can I mix and match graphics cards with different sizes of memory?

When purchasing a second graphics card, you should try to match the memory size so that you are ensured full value and performance from your purchase. However, while it is not recommended, NVIDIA does offer the flexibility to run graphics cards with different sized memory by using CoolBits. Using CoolBits (value set to 18), you can force both of the cards to use the lower of the two memory sizes and operate them together in SLI mode. When dissimilar memory sizes are enabled to work together using CoolBits, the effective memory size for each card becomes the smaller of the memory sizes.

CoolBits:

i'm not sure if the coolbits thing works for gtx670's.
I hear it will just BSOD

While this is just a quick find and probably not the best, it is a start in the right direction.

Future proofing. Some games already take advantage of more than 2GB VRAM such as Crysis 3, also if you add more monitors later on, you won't need to worry. I have 2GB and its perfectly fine, but i will upgrade next year to something faster with more VRAM i expect as i get the upgrade bug fairly often!
