Am not a big fan of Asrock myself have been burned with too many broken Asrock boards so i will not recommend them

At 4.4 - 4.5, most likely. Remember that TJmax for Ivy Bridge is 105*C, so temps in the 80s at full load isn't too bad...

It's a fine board, but it's well past the price range that OP's looking at...

P.S: I know there are a lot of threads that have been made about this and I went over all of them but I just can't seem to have the right choice right now. I'm also limited with budget and the reason I'm also considering a micro-atx board is because I have fractal 3000 design core Middie Tower, planning to get a NH-D14 with it aswell.

I really hope you could help.

I got a computer about 9 months ago and I didn't know b75m-d3h wasn't made for overclocking. I also bought 3570k, so I now need help with getting a Z77. I don't know which one to get since I have doubts with ASRock Pro4/Pro4-m or ASRock Extreme4/4-m. I have 1 gpu (gtx 670) and I think I'll stick to it but who the hell knows what I'd do in the future.. so I hoped you guys could advice me which one to take.

I hope you guys could help me and again, I know there are many threads but I really hope you can help. Thanks!

i5 3570k (ivy bridge)
msi gtx 670 oc (reference)
fractal design core 3000 black
8GB (4gbX2) kington hyperx blue kit
seasonic psu 620w
ssd 128 gb

P.S: I would also consider buying an Open Box, can anyone tell me their impressions from it? (Newegg's open box), will it miss a lot of essential cables? So far I know I'll have to get the Sli bridge which won't be there but I think I shall have the other equipment from the b75m-d3h box , or am I wrong?

And thanks a lot! smile.gif

Gigabyte Z77 D3H $115.-http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=GAZ77MD3HMVP-DH&cat=MBB

refurb Asus P8Z77-V LX $85 http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=P8Z77-V-LX-PB-R&cat=MBB

Then I would grab an H60 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835181030
and be done with it. That case is kind of small to be stuffing a high-end air cooler in there.

I think you would be better off with a air cooler then a H60

would it be enough to get into the ~4.5 stable oc? it's also a micro atx, shouldn't I get a full sized one, I think it would fit in tho..

Gigabyte's regular mATX boards aren't really good for overclocking. The board you linked is a 4+1 VRM model, which is clearly insufficient for the purpose OP has in mind.

I'll just reduce the options, let's say I AM getting the mobo you offered me, and my max budget for cooling is 70$. What should I get, I want a stable 4.5 OC with temps that won't go over 80's. What can you offer me? shouldn't be as big as the nh-d14 since I have a middie-tower case.

Well I will say this. With a 2nd fan it keeps my 960T X6 @4.25GHz(1.53v) under 55c. That's around 190w,so I think it would do very well in his application.

rolleyes.gif It doesn't take much to hit 4.5 stable. I guarantee you it can do it,with the right set-up. Also I was adding other options because he's trying to save money. Geeks has excellent motherboard deals, however much he's willing to spend, like this refurb Sabertooth for $159.http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=SABERTOOTH-Z77-BO-R&cat=MBB
