660 Ti at cheap price. Should I buy?

Thread Starter
Hi all,

I can pick up a second hand EVGA 660 Ti SC 2GB for £165 ($255).

I know that the 660 Ti is often looked upon unfavourably by many experienced members of this community as well as others, so I'm a little unsure whether I should buy it.

Also with the 700 series coming next month (rumoured), I'm not sure whether I could get more for my money waiting a little. For example, the 760 will probably be around £175, and I'm happy paying that if it's better than the 660 Ti.

Thanks in advance.

Assuming it's in good condition, that is about the right price for the performance that the 660 Ti provides. What's your resolution and monitor count?

If it's a decent price, go for it. I picked up a pair of GTX 660's for £100 each, very happy with them, you won't be disappointed with the ti at a decent price.

Nice, sounds like you got a great deal. I'm guessing they were second hand?

One thing that concerns me - http://www.hwcompare.com/13188/geforce-gtx-660-ti-vs-radeon-hd-6850/

Doesn't seem too much better than my 6850 :S ?

Other than texel rate it seems very close, with the 6850 being better on 'Pixel Rate'.

Hmmmmm, thoughts?

That HWCompare comparison is misleading. The Anandtech GPU bench gives a better idea of their respective performance.
