i think it has to be a hardware problem; sometimes it freezes even without the nv4 infinite loop and also freezes in the desktop without playing games.

maybe the power suppy or the graphic card or the motherboard..... ??¿?=¿??¿

I'm going to be upgrading my system in September, what should I get? I'm thinking about getting an 8800GTX and a 20" Display (I am currently using a 19" Viewsonic Display that is pretty old and runs at 1280x1024 ).

Should I wait until November, or just get an 8800GTX?

Edit /// I will mainly be playing Battlefield: 2 and Call of Duty 4.

Download ATItool 0.26 from the forum download section, then raise your core and mem sliders untill you arnt stable anymore, then back down to where you are stable....

On another note....

I cant seem to get a stable OC on my eVGA 8800GTS 640mb....Anything above the stock settings has errors or locks my machine...had luck with the settings in my sig last night, ran stable for a while but now it wont...Do I increase my core or mem?

So I have a quick question. Can anyone confirm or find any other links to charts where the 8800gts 320 vs the 8800gts 640 that shows that the 320 is beating the 640 version in various tests? I don't understand how that would work. Why would you make a better version of a card just to find that the one with less memory beats it in most things? I did the comparison on Toms hardware and found that the 320mb ver. beat it in both Battlefield2 and 3dmark2006 in fps.
