Jumping on the Intel bandwagon

Thread Starter
Well after not getting the performance I've been hoping for from my AMD setup, I've decided to build me a new Intel rig with a 3570k, but I was at a crossroads on a new MB. I've been leaning towards a Sabertooth Z77 . Will this be a good option for gaming ? I've seen alot of good reviews and on newegg, it is one of the best reviewed of the Z77 line of boards. Just looking for some opinions , hopefully from owners of the Sabertooth and the 3570k combo. My budget for a board is around 250 dollars by the way .

What do you need from a motherboard? Most people will be satisfied with way cheaper boards like MSI Z77A-GD55/GD65, or Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H/UD4H.

Well I'm looking to do some decent overclocks and to also have a good setup for crossfire or sli. I'll also be doing mostly gaming, mmorpg's for the most part.

The boards that I listed are more than enough for that for half the price you want to spend.

Well I stayed on the AMD express and it looks like it was a good choice considering the new haswells have some heat issues even with decent cooling. My 8350 with a slight overclock of 4.3 never gets above 50°C (core temp) while gaming smile.gif very happy with that.

Glad to hear it worked out for you. My 6300 isn't fast enough for my games so I ordered a 4670k setup. Maybe the 8350 would have been enough, but I didn't want to take the chance.
