So how do you use NMM with SKSE? You tick the mods and plugins you want and exit and launch the SKSE.exe?

Yep, just use the skse launcher. You can also link it into NMM for convenience but it's not really needed.

Guys I have only the base game and none of the 3 DLCs. Which Unofficial Bugfixing patch should I use? The Skyrim one says its outdated but the Legendary Edition one says it needs all the DLCs.

I'm gonna be really honest here, get the DLC/legendary edition. The reason why is because unless you like vanilla skyrim you're going to run into a ton of issues with compatibility. because almost no one supports vanilla skyrim with their mods.

That being said, use the unofficial skyrim patch. Don't use the legendary unofficial skyrim patch or the other ones (just follow common sense and you'll be fine).

Dawnguard as DLC was okay but Dragonborn was pretty fantastic. Lets not mention the other one, lol. That was garbage.

When it comes to skyrim, as long as you're not using Mod Organizer, I can guide you through most, if not all technical problems. So don't hesitate to ask any questions.

Thanks! I tried out the Skyrim only version yesterday and it works. I'm using the most well known mods for my first playthrough, so all of the stuff I've installed works fine except the W.A.T.E.R which I replaced with another one and it looks great. I'll get the DLCs for less well known but more customizable mods as the steam sales come.

I'm not used to the leveling system in the game so I'll use the default classes and skills first and then use the class expansion and birthmark mod which looks awesome. Until the, I'm using the interesting weapons and armor and default magic, so no issues so far I think.

Once you get bored of the levelling system/perks in Skyrim, try Perkus Maximus. I can't remember if it requires the DLC but it's a significant improvement and overhauls everything, adding new weapons, weapon classes and mechanics.

It even has its own patcher for maximum compatibility. Just put your bashed and merged/every other dynamic patch you create before it, then patch with the folder called "patchus maximus" in your Skyrim directory.

Dyndolod is also fantastic at improving the long distance detail, there's fantastic tutorial videos on how to use it located on the mod web page. If I remember right the only video that still works is the best one, the guy has a somewhat deep and nasaly voice so it's hard to miss which one I'm talking about.

The short and curlies of th lod one is this:

Put dyndolod.esp at the end of your load order, make sure you drag+drop the edit scripts folder into your tes5edit folder. Run tes5edit.

Run script, select generate worlds (I think it's named that)

select low, medium or high details after selecting all the world spaces, you won't need the advanced options unless you use Open Cities. Go do something for 30-60 minutes, come back, save the dyndolod plugin which should be finished by then.

Done.

Yeah, but I don't even use TESEdit yet. I'll try to learn it after I get a hang of the basic modding stuff.

BTW, does the immersive armors mod have 10+ parts or something? I'm trying to activate it on NMM and it just keeps on adding new parts saying ''installing part 8/9, 9/10'' etc.

That's not normal. Immersive Armors is one file.

You really should be using tes5edit, merged patches are incredibly important for resolving conflicting records, they're equally as important as a bashed patch.
