You really should be using tes5edit, merged patches are incredibly important for resolving conflicting records, they're equally as important as a bashed patch.
Yeah something wasn't right with it. My HDD started dying the day I downloaded it with constant 100% disk usage and later freezing and HDD not being recognized to boot from. Deleted it and HDD issues stopped.

having a weird issue, just started a new game, lots of graphic mods, very few esp-based mods installed. Tried installing enb, get immediate ctd, reinstalled dx9 and fixed that issue, but now i can't even start a new game and it crashes. I've installed enboost and enb several times in the past, but for w/e reason it's crashing. I tried disabling all mods and it still crashes when i load or start a new game.

any suggestions?

[edit]: i got it, newb mistake, make sure you set speedpatchwithoutgraphics=true when using enboost...

[edit]: well now I have installed TK ENB (the version currently available on the nexus) and as soon as I click continue I get a CTD

[edit]: ok i figured it out, just drag and drop all new enb files...

Hey is the normal process for modding still at the beginning of the thread, like using Optimizer Texture and such? I'm remodding my install but haven't don't it in a few years, has anything changed as far as ease of install and mod/stability?

I have all the updates downloaded but am running into issues like finding out or remembering how to set up the mods as far as what is supposed to overwrite what, etc.

check the mods you have alot of mods have been updated and other mods have been patched to work with others now ,,I use NMM but the Nexus has hired the some people that did MO to help make a new NMM and if you get to the chance to use skyrim remastered you should it x64 now and really stable can't wait to see what the next 5 years brings as far as mods thumb.gif

Unfortunately I dont have the $$$ for SSE right now and chances are I won't in the future for awhile either. frown.gif

What I was mainly wanting to know if the texture mods like SMIM/4K skins etc, I don't remember what is supposed to overwrite what. Like I'll run into a mod that says SMIM has to write over it, but then run into another mod that says it has to overwrite SMIM, etc., stuff like that. no mods in particular though but I remember it happening before.

Hey guys. I've never posted in here before. But I am keen to. I've always enjoyed skyrim, playing base game and expansions. Never actually finished the game. But still love it regardless. I wanna start playing the game. But this time I want to do some mods. Mostly graphics mods to make the game look prettier. But also I heard there is a mod that can make your leveling up slower. I feel that you burn through the early levels pretty quick and want to slow that down a bit.

So what mods do you guys recommend? Anything else recommended on top of the graphics and game play mods like the ones I want above? I still just wanna play the base game.

I have the OG game and the Special Edition. Which is better?
