Big Typhoon

Alright, I know there are enough threads about this cooler but I have an important question. Is the BT that I linked to the one that has the screws or the cheesy plastic pins, or worse, the clips that I cannot stand!!!?

thanks

Screws. the BT VX is the one with the clip.

..somebody here had their clip fail and the BT fell down and broke their video card. Go with the regular BT, much more safe and sturdy IMO, it may have a better fan but you can always by an after-market.

Hopefully you can reuse the existing screws on your mobo if they are long enough.
The replacement screws are smaller in diameter than your stock plate screws.
I swapped mine with a trip to the hardware store, and also added support to the
cantilevered hsf with velcro up to the above psu body.
Works like a charm and no flexing mobo problems.

I knew I was going to have to hold the cooler up by more than the mount. I would hate for it to fall off and land on my video card . I like the velcro idea, I might have to try that. And I might also have to visit the hardware store.

Yah thats the good version. I got that one in my rig and its amazing without being lapped and stock fan. Lap it and put a silverstone 110CFM on that thing and it'll rape even more.

The only downside to that cooler is the massive size for wiring and its a pain to screw the BT on because it hands out over the screws

Enjoy!
