I actually bought the vortex's in black, didn't like them. They made some weird noises in my case. In the process of RMA'ing them.

In that case, my vote is on the ap-13 or Corsair AF 120mm or 140mm quiet edition if your case supports them.
Or.. well.. the Noctuas, if you really want to pay for them rolleyes.gif

I was considering the corsair ones, they supposedly give noctuas a run for the money with a small difference in degree performance (least on the tests I saw) Some people say they aren't so great? Which is why I put them off for now. Do you have any quiet corsair fans?

I have both of the fans i recommended. GTs on front, pushing air in, and sp120 quiets exhausting trough h100i.
Both are very silent, i can't really hear a difference between them and the GTs when installed in a case. (corsair 300r)
My cpu temps are around 65C when under load at 1.2V 4.5Ghz

Exhaust fans only need to overcome the vent grill. Intake fans depending on if you have filters, grills, HDD cage, etc. may need to be powerful enough to overcome some or all of above.

Yeah.. static pressure and all. For the most part my top 3 exhaust fans have face some resistance and my hard drive fan is not good at all. I can get away with the rear for now.

Nocuta fans are overpriced and butt ugly too but i still buy them despite that

I think Noctua fans are still worth it as every single other fan i have tried was crap compared
