Which sound card for Sennheiser PC 360 - Page 2

You only have 2 ears tongue.gif

If you have the speakers for it, and the game supports it, sure. If you're only using headphones, though, 5.1 is probably enough.

To get the benefit of having multi channel sound you need multi channel speakers or headphones, both of which I do not recommend.

From everything I've read, the Recon3D is inferior to the Z.

The 2 cards share the same core, but the Z has definitely seen a lot of really good improvements.

The Creative X-Fi Titanium HD is a great choice too if you can find it for a low price, drivers may be an issue though as it's a legacy product which is no longer supported.

Is the The Creative X-Fi Titanium HD better then the 'Z' card for fps gaming?
Unless you need a headphone amp, yes.

The only thing that the Z has that sets it above the TiHD is the amp. The TiHD is the superior card in every other aspect.

I would go for a soundcard with an amp, if you ever want to upgrade headphone or headset you might be limited to what you can purchase if it doesn't have an amp. I've got the pc360 and a sonar essence stx and I'd recommend it. I've also got a beyer dt880 250ohm which sounds pretty good on the stx. Sure there is more expensive amp/dac combos but for the price of the dedicated soundcard it does an awesome job. Whether I'm gaming or listening to music the dac and amp is defiantly an upgrade over Realtek integrated mobo soundcard.
