Far Cry 3 Graphical Glitches (GPUs, Driver or Game?)

Thread Starter
I'm running Far Cry 3 on two GTX670 SLI (non-OC) and i5-3570k. However, I am getting graphical glitches (in this game only), some so debilitating that I've had to turn off the game.

I updated my drivers to 320.00 Beta and the problem has yet to persist (after 30 minutes of play) other than a few minor glitches here and there. (more the be revealed after I can play for a longer of period of time).

Are there graphics settings to minimize the amount of glitching?

Should I have V-Sync off and have the NVidia driver handle the V-Sync? 1-Frame or 2-Frame instead?

How many frames should I allow to buffer? I read somewhere that 3 is the sweet spot (however, that's specualtion).

Are there other settings that may be the issue? I picked optimal, where it picks them for you, it maxed everything out.

Any ideas?

Farcry 3 is one of those games that are ported badly from console. i had hell with it. the solution was in my gpu settings. which will not apply to you since you are on Nvidia.

Disable in game Vsync and Force vsync from your NVidia control panel.

The shadows on the trees start flashing. that's been the most common thus far.

At one point yesterday, the colors turned to bright fluorescent and smeared (that freaked me out). Occasionally, there's little brief shape anomalies that happen for an instance (livable).

I think it may just be the game. I never have problems with any other game, my overclock is 100% stable yet I still got things like this. It didn't happen very often and when it did happen I could fix it by just restarting the game (which is a pain because of Uplay)

I had glitches like that, but my game crashed shortly after. It played fine until I unlocked the bios on the gpu. After I unlocked my gpu, I could only play 5 or 10 minutes. I locked my bios and now it runs fine again.

The only graphical glitch that I've seen so far is with the blood on the ground. It looks like it has fire embers in it. Kinda cool but not realistic.

You can bypass uplay (basically, auto login to it) by using the command line switch -uplay_dev_mode -uplay_dev_mode_auto_play -uplay_dev_mode_auto_quit

http://www.richardkaemmerer.de/2013/03/30/how-to-bypass-the-uplay-launcher-with-steams-big-picture-mode/

I get that problem in quite a few games, it must be driver related.

Looked at your HTPC rig. I just changed my case out from a Grandia GD05 to a Fractal Design Node 605. It's much nicer IMO.

Maybe take a look at it, next time you're looking at an upgrade. Just be sure you don't have too many Hard Drives or you can't fit a GPU. I think you can have 1 3.5 or 2x2.5" with 1 GPU. I wanted 2 GPU's so I taped the Hard Drive bay to the case (it's an HTPC, so it never moves and their SSD's so they're cool.
