Probably costs next to nothing too. I can buy nice oil, like virgin olive oil or something.

Obviously Id need to get the hdds out of it, which I can do. Would oil do anything to the motherboard except make it oily?
What??? I've heard about one guy that tried this: all parts were toasted because OIL IS A F***KIN ISOLATOR!

Have you ever considered mounting a intake fan and another fan in the back of the case? It's 5$ for pete's sake... You know, computers are not like cars, you don't grease them to work better.

you need some thermal compound it is not expensive you can get it at radio shack for less than 2 bucks. And only use a portion the size of a bb on the cpu. Good lord and you put a bunch on? LOL. Take it off clean it up with some alcohole go to radio shack and get some thermal grease. Dielectric grease is made to keep moisture out of iginition parts, not conduct heat.
*** thats what i told them. I was reading the back on the way to the house and hes like no, oil is oil and its there to absorb something and yadayadayada...

these people never listen to me. K so Ill go and get some of the silver watcha mekall it and This cooler. I got socket 478, so no arctic cooler for me, the local place doesnt sell it.

BTW this is the local place:
http://www.microbytes.com

Just go into Accessories for the fans sections, if you guys see something better than the one I pointed out Ill get that one instead.

And btw I got 2 fans on the case, one in the front and one in the back. The back one is pretty large and takes power from the 12v cord.

Cpu now idles at 43, I installed the fan and stuff.

I tried playing COH and I noticed it was still the same. Checked out aquamark3.

5955
6901
41536

Im guessing it didnt have anything to do with the cpu being overheated...
I dunno why we thought a low gpu score would have anything to do with the cpu.

So what happens now?

Original Score without fan:

7800gs
5913
6848

Well thats the same thing that happened to makryu..got temps under control and still has bad performance.
I would verify by all means possible that your card is actually running at 8X AGP.

I think we need to go back to square one here. And slow down on buying stuff man you need to keep going to the PC shop everyday! Also I am suprised your PC still works after that grease mishap I am really really suprised.

See if you can try a friends Nvidia card in there for only a day we dont wanna see if it will fry or else you just owed him a 7800GS. If you cant do that go to the PC shop you have just bought a **** load of stuff from and try the 7800GS there on a similar system if you can and see how it goes. I suggest taking the drivers you want with you on a junk drive or a SD card or whatever. If the cards still perform the exact same then I say its the card if the 7800GS beats the crap outta the x1300 as it should then I would say its the mobo not liking Nvidia.

Once again slow down on all this stuff.

I returned everything I didnt need.

The things Ive bought are:
mother board p4s800d-x 75$
Case for the motherboard 100$
Cpu fan 50$

The 7800gs, Im returning to the store by replacing it with the fried one.
I returned the psu and x1300xt pro.
I also bought a second cpu fan which I didnt use as well as arctic silver which i didnt use, Im returning both of those as well.

I guess Ill go and try getting a new mobo and seeing if it makes a difference.

Im not gonna keep things I dont need, and it doesnt seem like the store minds or even notices what im doing.

Everything Ive bought and kept is what I needed, I have no motherboard that can support the cpu I own, no case that could fit the mobo I bought. Without a fan the cpu would fry.

Its not the cooling, everything in my computer is under 48 degrees. my gpu is the only thing that goes to 50, and thats only when under stress.
