Wireless Display (WiDi) Thin mini-ITX HTPC thoughts? - Page 3

As of right now, I believe the model mentioned above is the most current, top of the line Wifi module provided by Intel. As mentioned above though, you would have to verify that both her CPU, and motherboard chipset support WiDi. Easy enough to do simply by clicking around a bit on Intels WiDi compatibility section. The links in the first post should help with that. Additionally, This link will get you started deciding on the various different Wireless cards Intel offer. I would pay close attention to the interface, the Wifi type, and the date released. That list includes regular PCIe cards for your desktop needs as well.
So one last read over made me realize that you may be trying to get a video signal FROM your surround system TO your wife's computer. To the best of my knowledge, WiDi can't work like that. It projects a mirror image of your laptop screen TO your TV. Not the other way around. As for the dual vs single antenna deal, if your wife's computer is even remotely current, and isn't the cheapest thing on the market, she probably has two antenna, even if the current card is a single antenna card. The easiest way to figure that out though is to pop the hood and take a look! Find the Antenna access panel, reveal the NIC, and count the wires coming off of the opposite side from the plug in interface. Checking the device manager, or running a program like Speccy, or Belarc Advisor should tell you everything you need to know about your hardware.

Good luck!

Have intel fixed their 23.967Hz playback bug yet?

I'm not sure, I wasn't aware of the issue, but I will look into it now!
BTW, bad news on the Streacom case, they have announced that it will be an OEM only part due to the wide range compatibility issues that would arise.
