When i can be bothered to play PREY past the intro when the aliens first come and suck people up from the BAR then i will make up my own mind to what the game is to me personally.

Maybe if i mention tearing in BF3, Queue someone who hates BF3 coming in and going off on a tangent.

I experienced no tearing with Prey. Because when I played it 6 years ago, It was old. And it sucked.

I experience tearing with BF3 when I don't enable vsync. I play it... but it still sucks compared to BF2, which was a superior online experience. Simply because I mastered it...whereas I have not mastered BF3... because it sucks.

Do you see my logic now? Don't you get it?

Well lucky for you if you didn't get tearing in PREY without Vsync.

We must respect his superior logic that we can't even begin to comprehend.

Anyway i brought up PREY because it was the worst tearing i have ever seen, maybe there are worse examples but seeing as i put VSync on as soon as i can i would of likely missed them.

No you were right. I'm drunk. Prey still sucks and the frame tearing hence is irrelevant because I played the game when it was old and saw no tearing because it was like 1000 FPS with an 8800 GT, and you probably bought it day one. The logic is... don't doubt your instincts. Which you were right... and I was righter.

Right?

No! you not getting tearing personally in PREY does not make it irrelevant to the context of tearing or talk about it.

So see as you don't like PREY and you didn't get tearing in it, there is no need for you to partake in talking about tearing in it.

Oh there's a need to talk about tearing and Prey... it tore my brain out. With fail. It was the beginning of the end for ID type first person shooters. You can fail, spirit walk and win. As if they recruited so many Corkys that rode in little yellow school buses to test this game for developers.

That's why there has been no sequel....there isn't enough breathers to buy it to make it profitable.

You've got some mighty big cajones saying something like that.

Tearing and aliasing are the two banes of video image quality.

When are you going to realize that this doesn't happen to everyone? I've seen input lag and some configurations aren't affected. I don't know what the wildcard is that causes it, although vsync on CAN cause it under certain conditions. I've seen it with razer mice and some other configs. It doesn't affect my system though. I've always used asus motherboards, logitech mice, and input lag hasn't affected my past 3 systems except in a few select games - dead space 1 being one of them.

You keep making broad statements about input lag. Input lag doesn't affect everyone. Tearing affects everyone. I don't know what causes the input lag, and I know that vsync can exacerbate it. Is it the motherboard? Mouse drivers? I don't know. My system is unaffected.

IF I had to put up with tearing i'd stop PC gaming forever or go with a 144hz lightboost screen. Which, oddly enough, one of the biggest complaints about lightboost is the input lag it creates. Whatever rolleyes.gif

Just realize that tearing is just as unacceptable as the input lag you speak of. Neither are acceptable. If I had to put up with either permanently, I would never game on the PC ever again. Period. Tearing is so completely and utterly noticeable and game breaking in terms of lost immersion. I can't stand it. Apparently you can rolleyes.gif whatever.
