Cooling With Spare 80mm

Thread Starter
The first 2 pics are 2 different angle of my spare 80mm fan cooling my vid card & the 3rd pic is a 20mm fan coolin the North Bridge Chip & there both suspended with twisty ties.
This is the cheapest way to cool your Vid Card & North Bridge but it takes up PCI slots & if u use em then u gotta try another trick lol,as for me i dont need PCI slots. In other words if your brokes like me then a spare 80mm & spare 20mm will give u good cooling until your pocket get fat.

Anyway i hope this helps u OCing Freaks out there.

Edit:Sry for crappy Pics

What also works:
2 zipties + PCI cover plate + 92mm fan.

I wouldn't use twisty ties inside a PC near the motherboard. Most are paper/plastic wrapped around wire. Stray metal wire = bad!
Once again...

jus dont use the paper 1,use the 1 with the plastic around the wire (those comes on power supplys & alot more other stuff)paper twisty ties are old man,i havent seen those in a longtime.

Look @ the forth pic & u will see what i mean, its not paper its plastic that cant be stripped unless its force stripped.

I had a random old CPU fan cable tied to the back of my case at one point... Turns out it worked fine without it.

Come to think of it i did get a little carried away with cooling when i got this system. *Looks at the badly drilled string of holes all over the side of the case...*

how can it be open wires if its coverd with rubber around it?arent any other wires in ur system covered with rubber, its jus like speaker wires...its covered with rubber then when u strip em u can see the wires "BUT" only when u strip em u can see the wires.
do ya get me now, check out the close & far pic of the twisty tie, thats coverd with rubber not plastic or paper.paper twisty ties are old school man, everything that comes with twisty ties, they are all rubber on the outside of it.

EDIT:Its a web cam pic so bare with me,but notice its nuttin stripped about those ties...theres nowhere for the wires to leak out unless i cut it myself, which i wont do.
i kno the twisty ties ur talkin about & they are real old school & use to come on bread,& when u twist em u will see the paper comming off in ur hands, thats not the way they are made anymore...they got rubber around them now like speaker wires.
