New/ future 900d build

Thread Starter
G'day,
This is my first post on this forum so ill start off by introducing myself. I have been build systems for over 5 years now, mainly for friends and family. I am hopefully starting up a small business to earn some extra cash on the side of my full time job (will just be running it out of home). I have decided that if i do this i will need a flagship build to help advertise a website or something. I like to think of myself as a fairly decent PC builder however i have never attempted water cooling, so this will be my first build with that in it. Hopefully i can find some helpful advice on this forum.

I am aware that intel are releasing some new cpus soon so i would probably swap out for one of those as well as the new nvidia GPU's (700 series i think).

Now with out anymore rambling here is my proposed build list.

Case: Corsair Obsidian 900D
Motherboard: ASUS Rampage IV Extreme
CPU: Intel Core i7 3930K
GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 680 4GB FTW+ with Backplate x2 in SLI
Memory: Corsair Dominator Platinum CMD32GX3M4A1600C9 32GB (4x8GB) DDR3
SSD: Corsair Force Series GS 128GB
HDD: Western Digital WD Black 1TB
Power Supply: Corsair AX1200i Digital
Cables: Corsair Professional Individually sleeved DC Cable Kit
Keyboard: Saitek S.T.R.I.K.E 7
Screens: BenQ XL2420T 24in LED 120Hz x2
Mouse: Saitek Cyborg R.A.T. 7

Water Cooling
CPU Block: EK-Supremacy Clean CSQ - Nickel + Plexi
GPU Block: EK-FC680 GTX+ - Nickel
Pump: Swiftech MCP655
Pump Acc: Bitspower BP-D5TOPAC2-BK D5 Mod Pump Top V2 (Acrylic Version) and Bitspower D5 / MCP655 Mod Kit - Black Sparkle Finish
Reservoir: Bitspower Water Tank Z-Multi 150 - Full Clear Acrylic Version
Rad 1: EK-CoolStream RAD XTX (360)
Rad 2: EK-CoolStream RAD XTX (480)
Tubing: XSPC High Flex Hose 1/2″ ID, 3/4″ OD Clear
Coolant: Phobya ZuperZero UV Red 1000ml
Fans: Corsair Air Series AF120 Performance Edition High Airflow 120mm Fan

There are a few things that im unsure on.
1. how much tubbing to get
2. how much coolant to get
3 how many fittings to get
4. how many fans to get

If there is anything that i have missed please let me know, i am typing this after working 16 hours straight.
Thanks in advance fellow forums user, i look foward to hearing your feedback

Look what came in the post today.

I did change some of the part from the original list. Mainly that i wasn't able to get the water cooling components right now due to budgeting restrictions. It will be something that i look into in the near future.

I will post a full list of the components as well as lots of pics in a few days when i can get to the post office to receive my goodies.

G'day,

I have been very busy with work lately so i haven't been able to spend as much time on the build as i would have liked. I did manage to get everything installed and wired up. and got a successful post. That dam little beep is the best sound in the world.

I have run into a problem which i cant go any further with the build without fixing it. The fan cables that i have will not reach where i want them to go. I have also decided that i will need a fan controller.

I have never used one before so here is what i hope to do with it.

The three front fans will be linked together
The back fan will be by it self
Each set of fans on the rad will be linked together

Going with this i need four channels with a max of 3 three fans on any given channel.

How would i go about doing this, what fan controllers are you guys using.

I also need to name this build, and seeing as i am very unimaginative, does anyone have any suggestions for a name.

i will upload pic in the morning.

Kind Regards
Highelve0065

Those are some cool components. I totally understand the budgetary considerations; I opted for another budget approach -- got all my water-cooling parts and decided to re-use the legacy cpu, RAM and mobo.

As for controllers, these might be overkill as you don't have that many fans (these are good for water-cooled rigs as they have 6 ch at 30W per ch, but you might need the extra ch later on):

http://www.lamptron.com/2013/06/25/lamptron-fc5-v3-the-best-just-got-better/

This is the one I use in my current build:
http://www.lamptron.com/2013/02/05/introducing-the-lamptron-cw611/

High power output per ch. (30W, 36W) would allow you to control a 12 V pump as well as fans.

And here is a 4 ch one:

Scythe makes cheaper ones, I had this one for 2+ years and it worked fine:

Hope that helps,
Odachi
