nVidia 680i BIOS temp reading Q

Thread Starter
The CPU temp in my 680i BIOS after OC'ing reads 15 celsius, but in CoreTemp or TAT it's closer to 35 - 40. Is there a reason for this discrepancy?

They measure the temp at different places. CoreTemp and TAT are using the on CPU reading and should be used to gauge CPU temperature.

Also, what kind of cooling are you using out of curiosity? Is your ambient below 15C?

Yeah, well it was 2 days ago when Chicago froze over like a polar bear. Now it's closer to low 20s. I'm using a Zalman 9500. Before I "fixed" the thermal grease and actually made it worse, I was getting mid 40s at load @ 3.2ghz. Now it's up to 60! Time to fix it again.
