Everyone *****es about dells prices and what not but what you dont realize is OUR custom built pc's have warranties on every piece we buy and some are 30 to 60 days and if your lucky up to a year. Alienware on the other hand comes with a 3 yr warranty on the whole shabang. Can you say that about your custom rig???? NO.. So remember what people pay isnt just for hardware.. its for a warranty that far succeeds what we have. Kudos on finding a deal and being happy with your pc. thumb.gif

Most of EVGA's Video Cards give you free lifetime warranty as long as you registered within 30 days of purchase. Every EVGA card I have (10 in the past 8 years) all have lifetime warranties. Not only that, if they can't repair your card and no longer produce it they'll upgrade your video card for free.

Besides, you have to pay a huge premium in order to have a longer warranty than 1 year from Alienware. Last time I checked a 4 year warranty costs you an extra $500.

Mine didn't and I registered it so I could get my copy of 3dMark11. the registered legit version.
not a single part on their site offers a lifetime warrenty. Just so you know not one.
Mine didn't back in 2011 either, So either you're making it up, or I want to see proof.
I wonder how many of you have gotten the hint by now. I don't give a damn about opinions, history, or anything like that. I only give a damn about ONE thing and one thing only. The facts/The truth.
No ifs, ands or buts about it.
I don't care about fanboys and fangirls, I have no allgience. I have no patience for liars and frauds, or crappy customer service. I care about the facts.
Show me the evidence. No evidence, no proof, no argument. Its that simple.
Im a hard ass I know, its the way I've done things for years, and I refuse to let anyone get away with anything other than the truth of the matter.

Read the article. that's only for things that are subject to a lifetime warrenty.

EVGA offers various limited warranty terms from the date of purchase to the original owner with a valid invoice. For original owners without a valid invoice and users that have not purchased the product from an authorized reseller, the warranty period is 3 years from the date that the product was shipped from EVGA's warehouse. Registration is recommended by EVGA, but not required on the following:
•Limited 3 Year Suffixes: -KR, -K1, -K2, -KB, -KA, -KF, -KM
•Limited 5 Year Suffixes: -GR, -SR, -VR
•Limited 10 Year Suffix: -XR

Exceptions:
1.Long-term warranties are available to the original owner on applicable parts if registered by the original owner within 30 days of purchase. A valid invoice is required from an authorized reseller to verify any long term warranty. If parts with long-term warranty availability are not registered within 30 days of purchase, if they were given away or sold, then they will follow the standard 3 year limited warranty terms. •Limited Lifetime Suffixes: -A1, -A2, -A3, -A4, -AR, -AX, -CR, -CX, -DX, -FR, -FX, -SG, -SX

Meaning it has to say that it comes with a lifetime warrenty for you to invoke it upon registration.

So for example.
http://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=06G-P4-2790-KR
Here's the brand new Titan.
It falls under the suffix -KR
Meaning 3 year warrenty.

http://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=03G-P4-2781-KR
Suffix -KR in the partnumber

3 year warrenty.

You need to actually read the documentation, its there for your protection and the companies quality control.
(yes, I do take this stuff VERY Seriously, I've spent my life with computers, I don't play around.)

I never said EVERYTHING had a lifetime....

I said and I quote "There are parts that if registered within 30 days by the original owner, can have a lifetime warranty." I didn't say THEIR parts. A simple search turns up some video cards from EVGA that are eligible for lifetime warranties. You asked him for proof that EVGA had lifetime warranties for video cards, and there's your proof.

Their lifetime on video cards ran from the 7800 GTX up through the GTX 580, so in his case, his last 10 cards could have easily had lifetimes considering the average upgrade time most people use. Again, you wanted proof, there it is. His cards had warranties.

EDIT: I honestly don't understand why anyone is arguing over the warranties anyway, almost any part you buy can have a 3-year to 4-year warranty for like $10-25 extra if the part doesn't already come with it. Hell most GOOD power supplies come with 5 year warranties standard.

Context, its important.
Also you cant provide proof for his claims, only he can, or if you can find supporting information. You've supplied the related documentation, not a part number or piece of literature included with the graphics card referring to its warranty information.

And the context was there if you read it right. He stated 10 cards in the last 8 years. Considering the 500 series isn't THAT old yet it's easy to see that all 10 of the last cards he bought could fall in the category of lifetime. The 580s from EVGA still come with lifetimes if you buy one today. And as for my post, again, my context was correct, saying that there ARE parts, doesn't mean the 600 series, nor does it mean ALL of EVGAs parts. As much as context is important, comprehension is too.

But it STILL doesn't change the fact that someone made a statement before that was completely untrue, and unethical.

we can play word games all damn day, that's fine, but no matter how many times you and I wanna dodge the subject it doesn't change the fact that none of the big sellers offer lifetime warrenties.
Best of class offers 3 years.
