[Solved]Confused about windows defender and avast

Thread Starter
Okay, so, I have Avast installed and I just got a side tray notification saying I should let windows defender scan my computer.
First off, I thought that Avast had me covered for that, or is the defender scan not for the same things?

And secondly, I noticed that real time protection was on on windows defender.
I have all of the network shields active on Avast, so should I deactivate it?

I have noticed that my CPU usage goes to around 50% when im downloading at 10MB/s, so is that from them clashing to scan the incoming files?

If anyone could shed any light on this, that would be great
Thanks smile.gif

Defender should be DISABLED when using avast. In the Administrator tab on Defender's settings there is a "Use this program" checkbox. Un-check it and you're done smile.gif

Thanks guys smile.gif
+1 to you both

I could have sworn that id turned it off before...
It even had schedueled scans, which is something I rarely have active tongue.gif

So will I see some improvements in CPU usage now?
