Dell 3007 30" vs westinghouse 37" 1080p review!!!! - Page 9

It's all you're fault..lol. I remember the wow going from a 15" CRT to my current 21" CRT, I can't imaging what this next jump will be like. Just placed my order at newegg, it's $999 plus about $60 in shipping.

I'll be working on clearing off some desk space to make room until it gets here next Tuesday. Man....I can't wait..... Whoohoo!!

This review makes my E207WFP feel tiny and ineffective.

question, if I missed it was the dell the "HC" model?
'unplayable" hmmmm... what about Crysis and DX10?

I am looking at that monitor, games is like 75% of the time on line.
you kept the westy, that much of differance?\\
I wonder why your FPS dropped so bad. you;d think that at a lower res it would be the same?

if you've addessed these questions in earlier posts, sorry for the redux.

oh yeah, nice ink.
the reason i kept the westy is mainly because of its sheer size. and it was cheaper than the dell. also with the dell the 2500 res compared to the 1900 res wasnt a differrance that i noticed.

the reason for my fps drop was bad drivers. right now im holding 60fps on oblivion outdoors ar 1900x1080.

"right now im holding 60fps on oblivion outdoors ar 1900x1080."

that must be SICK on that big a$$ screen!

I think I'm going to go on the 3007HC. doing a complete new build, waiting for the 680i to get rma'ed to the A1, got the petras h20 ordered. etc etc etc. stoked!

I just got the monitor and have been playing with it a few hours now.

Pros:
Size, it's spectacular in size
Color, Contrasts, Sharpness are all superb
I really enjoy the monitor for my desktop purposes. Even photo editing is excellent, I thought gradations/sharpness would be poor, but it's very very good on still.

Cons:
Ghosting-Maybe it's just my jump from a 21" CRT to LCD, but the ghosting is definately noticable in games to me. Especially fast action FPS games like Fear. Regular desktop use you don't see it, but I can in games.

In the end, I'm thinking I'll keep my CRT for the puter and use this as a new TV. I'm thinking most people that are saying there is no ghosting must have already been using LCDs because there is a definate differenct between this and a CRT monitor.

I's bet it's the 8ms response time... probably just not quite fast enough.

This is only the tip of the iceberg, soon you will want to go 50"

Ghosting isn't bad at all, unless you sit too close which makes it difficult to use anyway, you want to put at least a meter between the keyboard and screen.

Hopefully later models will improve response times anyway, at <5ms it's not noticeable at all.
