Best use for a mac I've seen. Seriously though, that case is tougher than previously thought.

As for the other stuff, I just don't have anything as powerful. That's all.

this happened in australia the other day the guy in the gif actually gets up and away at first, his mate draggs him lol

I feel a little odd for saying this, but I'm a jobless college student and the reason I want to win is so that I can buy a phone. A phone is mainly for personal use - which is generally what I'd use it for, but I actually need one (specifically an android) for a school project.

I built a pretty modest rig at the turn of the year, so it might seem strange why I didn't just factor a phone into my budget when I built the computer. Well that's because I never planned on owning a phone until I got a job and was able pay the monthly bills. As it turns out, literally a couple of days ago my dad decided to switch to a family plan, and due to the low prices, he offered to cover the cost of my line until I can start paying for it. The only missing piece of the puzzle is now the phone itself.

If I got a completely new system, I'd probably end up using that as my new rig. This would let me downsize my current rig and donate it to the living room for htpc use (my family is thinking about cutting cable to save $). After selling off the parts unnecessary for an htpc, I'd easily have enough to get a phone. Same idea for the monitor - winning that would allow me to replace and sell my current one.

Other than that, I would definitely enjoy the upgrade from my current rig - although it isn't weak, it certainly isn't a beast either. As for the other prizes...I'm not sure if receiving any of them would help me with buying a phone, but I know I would find enjoyment out of them either way. Hawaii, USA~

Finally a giveaway that seems fair biggrin.gif Anyway, here's a story for why I want to win: My lappie's GPU is DEAD. It died last night, I baked it, it came back just to say "good bye, dear owner, I loved our UT3 time together", and then it died again... frown.gif So after I sold my main rig half a year ago, I now have no pc..
My plan is to put up something decent and easily upgradable by the end of the next month, say, Core i3 or some Pentium IB, 4Gb ram, HD7750, and then slowly upgrade it to a gaming machine, with the remaining parts going in my wife's rig (Pentium G840, 4Gb ram, integrated GPU).
But that can only happen like two months from now, and with a budget of around 500-700$ LOL biggrin.gif So winning something decent in the mean time will be great! tongue.gif

If I win, the rig will be used for 3 things:
- developing programs for Windows (that includes coding, making icons, running tests in several VMs)
- ordinary internet stuff
- but mostly gaming, I want to see my fav games maxed in 1080p 60fps.. (those are UT3, SC2, CnC3, TombRaider, Crysis, StarTrek, NFS Shift, MassEffect 2 and 3, Skyrim)

My rig is definitely not stronger than the grand prize, since I have no rig smile.gif The strongest rig I ever owned was AthlonII x3 @4Ghz, 8Gb DDR3 1333, GTX550 Ti
I've never had a watercooling setup too smile.gif
I'll be buying a case and a monitor whenever I can afford it, so I'm in for those as well
And I think Lara in the new TR is HOT tongue.gif

Location is city of Burgas, Bulgaria. Cheers! thumb.gif

This is just too generous, thanks for the great opportunity! Let's see, I'd use your backup rig the same as I use my current one, for gaming and video editing. Than possibly hand down my current rig to my sis or bro depending on if they would actually take care of it instead of just use and abuse it with no love. I shudder at the though of it being neglected. Or a couple of other options; I could do my first real project mod or use it as a folding rig or donate it to a folding farm that could use it. Winning your backup rig would also be a nice first time step into using an Intel build and a custom loop, haven't had either..yet. Weather I win your backup rig, another one of your gracious prizes or nothing at all, thanks for the great OCN freebie some lucky members will definitely walk away extremely happy. thumb.gif

Came across this as I was lurking about. Been quite a while since I've done so, and I usually forget to even log in, lol. Anywho... I'm in mainly for the rig, but anything else would be fine I guess, as I probably don't deserve any of it.

So, currently all I have got is a rather crappy laptop from 2009 with a decent mouse. Inspiron 1545 with a Logitech G500 mouse. Odd combo. Originally it came with 3GB of RAM and a 320GB HDD. Upgraded to 4GB of RAM and a 500GB HDD. The laptop has been serving the originally intended purpose. Written several papers for college classes I took, used some programs for school like UGNX, Eclipse, Mathematica, etc. More often than not though, it's been used for some rather heavy gaming, which increased when I took a break from school. Play games like Counter-Strike: Source, League of Legends, Minecraft, list goes on. Only problem is that I didn't get this with the AMD graphics that were available for it, so it's running off of Intel GMA 4500 MHD. By today's standards, that would be equivalent to poop, almost literally now that I think about it. The wireless has been a hassle on it. The Dell mini wifi card that came with it seems to be dying as it doesn't work well, and I had to replace it with the Intel WiFi-Link 5100 AGN. Seems okay when connected directly to the router rather than wireless connection, but then it's limited graphics power leaves much to desire. I've been planning to eventually replace this thing with a desktop build around $450 to $800 when I find work and can afford it, but that could be a ways off.

Think that's pretty much it. Basically would like a chance to have a decent rig that can run things higher than 20 fps while also being on much higher quality settings. Thanks for giving people a cool opportunity and showing much generosity.

Before I forget, location is Chassell, Michigan, USA

Rep = 0 entries, Time on OCN = 4 entries (but 5 at time of drawing), Posts = 0 entries. Think that's right if you're going by 1 entry per 6 months.

I think I have 25 points from posts, 1 point from time and 13 points from rep. I might have gotten the post count number of points wrong, out of confusion, but it adds to 39 points.

My story:

I've been into computers for a while now, and have always wanted to build a water cooling system, but never had the money to be able to do it. I've spent pretty much all of the money I've had on computers, which hasn't been all that much lately. I've also been wanting to get a new computer monitor, since my current one is a bottom tier TN panel, but after a pretty disastrous experience with having to return a korean 27" monitor, I lost about a third of the money I had saved up for a new monitor, so I have kind of given up on that for the moment. My family's been through a bit of a financial disaster in the last few months, so my original intention to get some real graphics cards has fallen through and I just got some GTX 480s because they are cheap. Some new graphics cards, a monitor or water cooling would be nice to have. The current RAM in my system is 1600MHz which cannot overclock, so it would also be nice to have new RAM for benching.
