Well guys I have some reassembled goodness to show you biggrin.gif Though not quite done I still have quite a bit of lovely reconstructed metal.
All I have left to paint is the exterior and the plastic pieces. But I thought I would show you the extent of the beauty I have within.

Hope you like the start of Reconstruction.

Alright guys I need your opinion on something because I honestly can't decide between the two. To stain or not to stain.

Please leave a comment on which you prefer.

You want some deep color. Hit it with a blowtorch (quick, light burn on the surface... toast it, not light it on fire), then stain it. Old, antique wood, especially like you would see in a castle is aged very dark and can be extremely tough stuff. Build up some very deep color on it.

Alright it's that time again though this time the exterior has received the hammered silver appearance rather than just primer grey. I have the front panels up and they are being painted as we speak. biggrin.gif

Also Thanks TL for the advice on torching the wood It does look quite a bit better imho thumb.gif

As always all feedback is appreciated!

There ya go! Learning is fun. Playing with fire is even better!

It is quite funny I came across this build. I'm a fellow mailer and was kicking around the idea of chainmail on a case yesterday lol.
I like the stain and torched look man. Quite impressed so far keep it up. thumb.gif

Alright guys I'm almost done with the case I have a few touch-ups and the pedestal is awaiting varnish but other than that she is complete biggrin.gif
Unfortunately however I'm going to try to build some suspense to the final pictures of the case and as such I will be showing a few pics a day until the 5th of june when everything (should) be done. Bear with me and as always comments and suggestions are always welcomed. biggrin.gif

Day 1 of the reveal:

I will also be updating the first post with these reveals just fyi
