And whose customer-service are you comparing it to that is better?

Your suggestion that he was fed falsehood insinuates that I amongst others in this thread were lying to the original poster. I can assure you I documented my dealings with Dell in the OCN Dell club along with others who proved already thier experience with service is actually positive. However having said that nothing is 100% perfect and no vendor can say that.

I would rather take the word of a random overclock.net member then a global search of random people. That's just me.

It's odd that the procedure is different (more complicated) for smaller Dell monitors, but it seems like it is still fairly straightforward to get the ownership transferred.

No, I don't think you were lying or being malicious (you, no, other people, yes). However, for the most part people giving advice were just misinformed. If you say something you think is right (but is in reality wrong) you are not lying.

Frankly, some of the better Ebay sellers offer far better customer support than Dell. And that's the point of doing your own research. You can get lots of different opinions and experiences, and not just one or two people who have had really good or really bad experiences. Relying on N = 3 sample size does not make sense no matter what you are doing.

Well eBay, Amazon, Newegg all have great 30 day support. After that its all vendor. A Retailer we still have yet to learn. If the OP said where I missed it.

Your original suggestion "QNIX/X-star monitor quality is, and listen closely, superior to the U2713HM" was a misinformed statement. It was articulated by an OCN member very well to you why what you said was inaccurate. Which leaves us QNIX support vs DELL. Don't know much about QNIX customer support. I won't rehash as its a moot point to the OP. I'll digress...

Your gloating "I told you so" to the OP and accusations of other member lying is just wrong. Lets focus on the OP and why this isn't going as smoothly with his U2312HM transfer or why he can't just return for refund.

I stated up front that I wasn't doing an "I told you so." I'm trying to be much more diplomatic than originally, as people don't really react well when their beliefs are challenged so abrasively. But further responses to my post are making it very hard to make that change in tone.

The qnix IS a better monitor, Even if the U2713M and the qnix were the same price, I would still buy the qnix 10 times out of 10. I don't agree with the reasons stated by the poster you're referring to.

Some of his reasons were factually false, some were very minor (USB Hub??) and now the original poster is having problems returning/getting refund where he wouldn't if he bought a qnix from a reputable vendor OR bought a square trade warranty. At the end of the day, it is still Dell, which allegedly had world class warranty support ,giving him a hard time over technicalities.

riahc3,
That's from the dell site.
I posted it on the Dell's forum and a employee of theirs is personally treating me so feels good to be treated like this smile.gif Great support from his part.

Is this a joke? No eBay seller offers better customer support than Dell. NONE*

* - Unless they are a frontend eBay seller for (example) Dell. Apple has one.

The retailer I bought it from has a 14 day money back if I am not satisfied with the product.

Anyways, the person I am speaking with from Dell has said that so I dont wait any longer for them to sort this out with the retailer, they (Dell) will replace the monitor and give me a proper order number themselves so I wont have this problem in the future (meaning I can completely forget about the retailer). Great customer support which no, I would not get from "a eBay seller" at all...

I'm curious how you came to this conclusion, considering the difficulty you had with dell. The top ebay sellers would have taken the monitor back immediately without the hassle.

Then again, you seemed to have your mind made up from the start with an obvious bias.

Im having as we speak trouble with a top eBay seller (Top Rated Seller) because I asked for a refund and he said he would do it but first offered me alternative parts which were not compatible. I refused so he sent me his address. Sent him the part telling him that I sent it. Sent later another one if he recieved it, no reply again another if he recieved it, nothing.

So yes, I know what it is dealing with a top eBay seller. Dell as you can see has solved this problem. This top eBay seller Ive been with him for about 2-3 weeks and now Im communicating with eBay directly to solve my issue.

You have not purchased a korean monitor from any ebay seller since you consider them "chinese knockoffs" and purchased the Dell instead. So I really have no idea why you think your experience with other non-monitor sellers have any relevance to this thread.

Immediate replacements with free shipping for heavy backlight bleed, excessive dead pixels etc. You do not have to look far to find amazing support stories with particular korean monitor sellers. But of course you won't since you were so biased to begin with. 99.5% plus positive seller feedbacks means 199 of 200 people satisified with a seller and this number isn't just magically guaranteed. By comparison, Dell scores about ~80% customer satisfaction. There is no mainstream U.S. company with that kind of customer satisfaction. Not even in the same ballpark.
