would my amd phenom ii x6 1045t bottleneck A GTX 670 - Page 4

LOL there would be not bottleneck with a 6 core phenom.
If you are that worried play a graphic demanding game and look up your GPU usage. If it's not above 90 then it's bottlenecked.

I had the Gtx 650 paired with the 1055t and it worked like a champ. When I overclocked the 1055t did it through clock to 4ghz and the fps went up and I was happy with the pair.

I agree with going for the 7950, but not for the reason of more Vram. The Vram needs on AMD compared to Nvidia are different. The Nvidia does decimal-point operations which means it has a lesser footprint, needing less Vram per operation. The AMD however does something that I call the "brute force" method. It does a whole bunch of operations trying to tackle one problem to try to do it faster, this causes more Vram to be used, hence the 3GB on the 79XX cards. Its the same deal as their processors.

So in other words, buying a 7950 for the extra Vram is pointless because in reality it has the same amount as the Nvidia. The 7950 is faster though, and cheaper so its a more worthy investment. thumb.gif

Why though? Any reason you want to spend more for less performance? I mean I love my GTX 670, but I did temporarely have a 7950 and it was pretty awesome too. It was strangely quieter too and easier to OC.

No... You get better fps with the 7950 over the 660, by a long shot. The res doesnt matter (it will only further the lead the 7950 has over the 660). Trust me, you will blow all your friends Nvidia card away with the 7950, especially if you needlessly overclock it. Also what do you mean by "no oc".
Also you can get the same resolutions on both cards, its like 2048x1536 or something retarded like that is the max for both cards.

PS: Please talk in proper sentences with proper words, you have a keyboard, use it! mad.gif
