PS: You picked a good psu, as I think I've said before, 99% of people on this forum just have a hardon for Rosewill Capstone PSU's, not saying they are bad because they are excellent psu's, but its not the only PSU.

There are a ton of good ones but very often when i talk about something other then the Capstone i get turned down for one reason or another

Take the NZXT HALE 90 V1 and V2 or the Fractal Design Tesla R2 or the Fractal Design Newton R3 very few on OCN has the HALE units and NONE so far has a Tesla or Newton

Whats wrong with the Corsair TX that he wants? Last time I checked pretty much that entire line is great.

I dunno, for a fully modular, 750W, Gold rated PSU, its fairly cheap at $150. The only thing I would substitute for it would be the Kingwin Lazer Platinum 750, which is actually $10 cheaper... something to consider http://pcpartpicker.com/part/kingwin-power-supply-lzp750

Did I miss something? I thought it was going to be a build with a single 7970 or GTX 670, for which 550 watts is more than enough.

Room for future expansion. Why don't you guys like buying PSU's are larger then you need. I never planned on getting a second GTX 670 personally, but now that I plan on getting another, I am happy I bought the 820w to begin with. Better to have too much then barely enough. thumb.gif

@BiG StroOnZ :

Yeah, she saw that Bitfenix and the Phantom Green/Black, also I did not recommend her the phantom due to different comments I've read about it, the Bitfenix sure does seem nice, she would have preferred a mid tower though, but I told her a full tower leaves more room for later improvements and it does sometimes provide better airflow.

I'll stick with Gold anyway, I just wanted to know your point of view in general, my budget allows me to go for it and there is some really nice ones out there. Now the real question was, is 650W enough for 2 770's ? These are the one I am looking at right now : Corsair AX750 (149.99 $) / NZXT HALE90-750 (132.69 $) / SeaSonic SS-650KM (116.98 $) or the 750KM (154.78 $), I chose the AX750 earlier because it was at the time the best bang for the buck (I could have had it at 124.99 $), but such deals does come back though, right now I'll go with the NZXT one, which seems of an equal quality as the others, I do like NZXTs products a lot strangely.

First, indeed I'll stick with 2X4GB (as in two sticks). I did look into G.Skill, my actual choice was the Sniper Series (2X4GB) at 1866 for 69.99 $, which is quite a great price indeed, I'll stay with that if I do not find a better deal among Kingston Beast or Corsair Vengeance at 1866, simply due to the fact that I like their style and heatsinks more than G.Skill (as said before, it is indeed truly dumb).

You would grab a H110 over a H100i ? I've heard extremely good comments about the X60, also it is quite pricey, it still interest me, just like the Swiftech, I'll read extensive reviews to see the one I like the most.

Finally, thank you a lot for your input, it was truly appreciated !

@Shilka :

That's true, every brand has crap, but some brands are better than others when you look at the complete series of their product in general, they're still an important clue of the quality of the product you're about to buy.

@ADHDadditiv :

Nice try for the cases, but she both find these ugly, sadly.. She's extremely picky about cases, while she's not with almost everything else, quite strange.

I guess for now I'll stick with a 7970, also since I am planning to SLI, would a 670 be better ? I heard that a 670SLI would be better than a 7970CX, what do you guys think ?

@DaveLT :

At the time it was the best price for a 750W - Gold - Fully modular PSU, sadly the price went back up :/. Gotta love price fluctuations, at the precise moment of purchase - I'm planning to buy everything in one shot - I'll pick the cheapest between the Corsair, the SeaSonic & the NZXT.

@ADHDadditiv :

The Kingwin is at 150$ as well, also it is Platinium and not Gold, I do not know that brand at all actually also I know it's made by Super Flower which I trust. As for now, I'll stick with the HALE90 which is cheapest for an equivalent quality and the sleeving is IMO quite better than the capstone one, also its price is truly attractive ! And yeah, their prices and list are ****ed up some time, some elements aren't here (the 7G in keyboard for example, some type of rams and or optical drives, etc.).

@Art Vanelay :

I stated quite early that I would like to SLI or CX later on, hence the 750W power supply, also I was wondering if a 650 could do the job as well. And yes indeed additiv, it is also to have room for future expansions and because I want to be able to throw almost anything at my computer and for it to be able to take it rather than work close to the limit and not being able to play a bit around.

Better to have too much then barely enough.

Exatly ! wink.gif

PS : Is there a way to customize RAM sticks ?

Edit :

If I were to go for a Midtower (I just realized that a fulltower could be quite heavy, also it leaves plenty of room for updates are there is usually more choice, as I still LAN time to time, I would rather appreciate something not that heavy), the H630 weight 14kg (30 lbs), and that's empty, not even with the stuff inside, it is an extremely nice case and I do like it a lot but I do not know if I wouldn't let myself tempted by a midtower, as you can see I am searching for something extremely simple, with a nice design, not too bulky, not too flashy, with USB 3.0 and a price tag ranging from 100 to 150 $ (if could be more if it is truly worth it). Right now I am considering these : Corsair - Graphite 600T / Fractal Design - Define R4 / NZXT 630 (also not as sober as I would like it) / NZXT H2 / Lian Li in general (also their cable management doesn't seem to be great).. Any recommendations ? Btw, the 650D, is it truly big &/or heavy ?

Well, two 670s can easily run off of a good 650 watt PSU. Getting an overkill PSU is a waste of money.

It's not too bad, but it's really awkward to carry because of the lack of handles.
